Hey guys, when looking for interesting lesser-known Chapters to induct into my Deathwatch I came across these guys:

And there is very little information about them. Does anyone know anything beyond what is listed on that page? Is there any chance at all that they are Space Wolf successors? Aside form their Chapter badge, would they use Space Wolf style armour and gear or be more vanilla?

Unfortunately no. There is only one second founding based off of the Space Wolves, and that was the "ill-fated" Wolf Brothers chapter. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Wolf_Brothers

They could definitely use the space wolf miniatures, but only the oldest, original miniatures. By that, I mean before there were separate space wolf miniatures and they just used regular space marine models. You could have one model, like one captain or one standard bearer, wearing a wolf pelt.

They might not have leman Russ gene seed, but whatever: They might knock out their own canine teeth, just with a hammer, and implant fake wolf canine teeth, just as sort of a hasn't thing.

Yeah, I had some of those but I've now mixed them with the newer parts to make them fit in better. Hell, maybe I'll do a single squad of Red Wolves for kicks. Then maybe a squad of Shadow Wolves. Not sure how I'd use them in games, though.

As said there's no known SW successor except the one they had to put down for excessive mutation. It seems the SW geneseed needs something only the natives of Fenris have in order to stay stable (well, as stable as it can be).

But nothing prevents a Chapter from having Wolf in their name, and many no longer know what heritage they came from anyway. Maybe these Red Wolves are older than their recorded history (lost in some disaster) but at some point lost in time fought bravely on campaign together with a Space Wolf Great Company who exchanged iconography with their battle-brothers? When their history was lost together with all veterans the survivors, mostly scouts, started using the red wolfshead symbol instead of whatever they used before.

Seeing as the Shadow Wolves, another chapter with wolf in their name, are an Imperial Fists successor, there's really no evidence that the Red Wolves have anything at all to do with the Space Wolves.
