Well, there goes all the BT armies :£
It's not like they're OP or anything. 250 points for naff-all firepower is a bit much, even in assaulty armies.
Just impossible to kill without heinous amounts of AT weapons, though I do agree that side armour 12 is a little far. Just having rear armour 12 would be a huge fix and would actually make them killable again.
True, but you still have to dedicate half your points or more into making them useful.
250 points Crusader
10 points for a Multi-Melta
180 points for a reasonably-equipped Crusader squad
100-200 points for a useful melee-HQ
That's 540 points at a low estimate.
Then you've gotta double up for survivability, in case someone gets lucky on T1.
Severin Loth cannot make use of any rules of LIbrarius Conclave.

Why would you make a turd unit even worse?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Also, if you have HH stuff, and that Character is dead, (Proper Dead), You can't use him/her/it.
Really? Was an AV14 brick really that had for people in your area to deal with? Clearly nobody brought enough melta. I'd hate to see what you would do with the poor Monolith!
One of my pet peeves is people who for some reason can't roll dice is a "neat" fashion now I get dice bounce around and such but there is no reason to send them scattering all over the place.
Land Raiders too survivable? Emperors champion cheesy? What is 40k these days.

Except you always disembark from the front or sides, never the back anyway(can you even do that?)

The Land Raider is an overcosted joke.

I rarely have a Land Raider live after the guys jump out. Too much melta out there.
In my first game of 7th, I had 30 boyz. In. One. Unit. All they managed to do was shoot their big shootas 2 or 3 times. And there were only 3 big shootas.
That was something that I will never do again.
I may sound kind of trollish, but I hate it when your opponent brings a unit of lots of models on a unit that's worthless or has a few models.
I could go on.
INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

I don't understand. When I run orks, it's usually 3x squads of 30.

Well, my friend, who was helping me, said it wasn't such a good idea with that many. They really didn't do anything. Up to 20 is better.

But that's true for ASM and devastators.
Everyone I play with [that plays Marines] Take them and a few others I know do to, so that is not a true 'Blanket Statement'.
Wow. That's... interesting to say the least given how awful they are.
In you META they are.
In ours they are mid tier units, but then we don't have tons of Scatter-Bikes, Wrathkights or Riptides.
You don't need those things to make devastators and ASM bad. They're just bad in an objective sense.
Not when both players have no problem taking them.
My normal Space Marine Opponent usually takes 3x 5 man Squads (4x HB, 4x, LC, 4x MM) and when I take my Marines it is usually 2x 10 Man Squads each with 4x PC. It comes out to be a very fair match most of the time. Other than a few Dreads and Rhinos/Razorbacks we also do not use many Vehicles.
I actually don't have a problem with the durability of land raiders. In the fluff they're described as being dang near mobile fortresses, and they have the armor to represent this.
TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Yep, nobody brings grav or melta. ever.
Not even the Tau player can Dakka my Caphractii Termies in an Achilles (Its like a russian nesting doll of blue resin)
It's funny really, we have 1 necron player and no monolith.
0 eldar players too.

If I'm not gaming at my house, I have my stuff in a box. This box just about contains one army list. He /somehow/ manages to get a good look at the contents before building.

Hmm, as others have pointed to, maybe write up a few different lists with different flavors/weapons/loadouts so he doesn't know what to expect.

A reply email from them is pretty much regarded as official, i wasn't the one to ask them but the screenshot of the email is floating around somewhere on this forum and makes it quite clear that it's perfectly acceptable to use Loth in a Librarius conclave
But a Librarius Conclave is for LOYALIST MARINES in Codex:SM.
Severin Loth is an EC character, therefore traitor.

When people roll dice one at a time when there is no reason for it. Like, fifteen saves on a character or MC all by itself, rolled one at a time.
And nobody gets to see my list until we are deploying models, especially not if they say they have to build the list on the spot. All they get to know is that I am playing marines.
