“You have your orders, the High Lords demand you stop the rape and pillage of The Emperor’s lands. The vile Xenos Orks have defiled that section of the galaxy for too long. You will crusade for the Holy Terra"

"Lord General we have already established the following forces for your crusade, you must use your political pull and sway to get the rest for your crusade. You shall have the Cadian 121st Infantry Corp, Frosian 7th Infantry Corp, Forsian 11th Calvary Company, Garmoil 3rd tank battalion, and Battlefleet Sadirum. We also grant you the Woliverines Valiantand all their resources; they have already established a bridge head into the system and await the Imperial Guard to garrison worlds. "

"Your mission is simple, purge the Charadon System of any and all Xenos and deliver the worlds, resources and civilians back into the fold Lord General Kruger Zonand. Fail and you shall meet the Emperor’s mercy.”

So I want to start a campaign with friends, start my own story about retaking/trying to retake the Charadon System. I ask you to pledge your forces to the cause/or against it.

Few things that might be cool to know. Add whatever you like:
What will you pledge?
Under any circumstances?
Why are they there?
Who leads your forces?
Do you have links to their fluff?
Any forces they tend to fight?

Also looking for feedback on the makeup this thread and titles/if anything doesnt make sense. Yes I know Generals dont have to rally for support of a crusade but it only way to insert unknown forces.

Lord General Kruger Zonand,

We have received word of your call for aid in the Charadon Crusade. We have information pertaining certain elements in the system which you might be interested in hearing.

We have been following a minor traitor warband, which goes by the name of "The Remnants", throughout several systems for more than a decade. In our last encounter with the warband, our scout squads managed to intercept their communications, including this message:

Relaying audio recording...
Processing...

[beginSequence=]

Forget this planet, [inaudible]! We have what we need, and we can't afford to lose the [audio garbled], not when we are so close! Get your men back to the ship and prepare for [audio stutter] - translation towards Charadon System, I repeat, all units, prepare for [audio cutoff]

[endSequence]

Following this information, we believe the warband to be en route to the Charadon System as we speak. We are unsure of their motives, but their recent actions seem to indicate they are gathering several artifacts of unknown, possibly xenos, origin.

As we believe these artifacts to pose a threat to the Charadon System, we will gladly dedicate our pursuing forces to your crusade, granted that we are given some liberties to continue our investigations into the warband.

The Strike Cruiser Wrath of Pollo is now on its way to the Charadon System, which contains following elements of our Third Company:

- Tactical Squad Antioch
- Assault Squad Iasus
- Scout Squad Primus
- Biker Squad Artabas
- Land Speeder Unit Alpha

- Terminator Squad 'Honour Company'

Said elements are lead by Strike Commander Tullius, who is accompanied by the Honour Company. Our forces also contain a small detachment of Imperial Guard reserves from the Charidian Guard, namely the 'Desert Eagles', led by officer Komnenos.

Naturally, the crew and support units of the Wrath of Pollo will be at your disposal as well.

We will assemble at the muster point and will contact you again once we have arrived in-system. We hope to discuss the matter of this possible Chaos intervention with you as soon as possible.

May the Emperor's Light guide your path.

I don,t know, hand them over quickly and he can avoid a chainsword related accident, its Templers, not foul xeno savages. :-)
I took a route as fluff often describes them as very autonomous, even for marines, kind of don,t like being given orders by others, yet alone regular men is my take on it.

Lord Marshall, we have information you may not be privy of. Thrasus and the Blidia Sector have fallen under siege of the Warboss Bone Rippa. They have taken the surrounding planets and you will have to break through these to take back Thrasus.

On your conditions, I am granting full authority to operate within the Blidia Sector as you see fit. With this you will not receive aid unless given by my staff and any aid given will have final command by me and my staff. Inquisition forces will not enter the area under my command or my staffs command. The Blidia Sector is yours to recruit as you see fit. All trophies are the Black Templars to claim. We recognize the right to the relics on the Keep of Thrasus and give command to purge any governor not willing to submit to Imperial command. I do recommend your siege elements to be further supplied as the greenskin have been known to consume more munitions than normally required. I am also renaming your forces to Strike Force Hammer for documentation and clarity.”

Sargent Tangir, we have heard your request for a repair dock and munitions station. We will set up at the required coordinates provided. The Minatorium has granted a substantial munitions and supplies. We ask if you have made contact in your region and how it goes, we would like to provide another front for the Orks. The Wolverines Valiant are facing staunch resistant on their front and are locked in with the Xenos. Be advised Governor Thrasus has contacted sector command and has asked for help from the siege. He also pleads to have your forces diverted elsewhere. Again we leave the sector your judgment, but please advise your command to please make haste into your sector.

Acting-Captain Aurelius reporting in. Initial contact has been made against greenskin forces around Grimdi, 0% casualties and 8% munitions spent. Full rout. It'll take more than a few orks to rout the Sons of Ultramar. We have integrated forces with the Wolverines Valiant admirably. We wait your reply, my lord.

However, we have encountered a slight problem. We seem to have engaged an Ork warband known as "Waaagh! Skulkrusha". Whilst this scourge may not be known to many commanders, Strikeforce Praetoria has encountered this particular plague before. Their chieftain, Warboss Skulkrusha, was responsible for murdering my predecessor, Acting-Captain Dramorian.
I personally defeated this beast once before, but it appears that the Emperor has given me a chance to seek vengeance on this filth again. My lord, we seek to bring this Ork's head to my Chapter in retaliation.
Give us free reign to do so, and the Ultramarines Chapter shall be in your debt. By this I do swear.

As of this moment, Strike Force "Panther" of the Death Ravens Chapter is at your full disposal.

Our forces have landed on the surface of Grimdi, where the 11th Forsian Cavalry Company and our Scout squad are gathering intelligence on Ork positions. The rest of our ground forces is aiming to link up with Ultramarines and Wolverines Valiant forces in the area as we speak.

Our Strike Cruiser has engaged several smaller Ork vessels in orbit above Grimdi, and is ready to provide orbital support if necessary. Our long-range scanners confirm the findings of the Eternal Crusader, a vessel of average size has entered the system but is unidentifiable at this time. We believe the vessel to be en-route to the planet of Mogrok, although we cannot confirm if the vessel belongs to the Remnants. We would like to keep our cruiser within monitoring distance of this vessel until we can verify the vessel's identity and allegiance.

Acting-Captain Tullius, glad to share this campaign with you. The Ultramarines Chapter appreciate the support. We are beginning to plan a Drop Pod assault on the main fort below us. Perhaps your forces could provide a planetside besieging force to keep the orks distracted?
If you require information about the greenskin menace in this sector, we'd be more than willing to give you data from our repositories. Link below.

Just give the word, and the Ultramarines and Death Ravens can combine forces as per Codex Strategem 26 (Subsection 8).

On a massive throne made of human and ork bones, a scrawny, pale ork sat, twitching and spasming. His eyes glowed with red fire. A staff converted from a space marine chaplain's crozius was gripped in his right hand. His left hand clutched a crudely made sack doll. As they saw him twitching, a group of massive, brutal looking orks wearing necklaces of human heads rushed up and gathered around him.

Murmurs rose from the mob. "Da prophet... Da prophet is talkin' wit Gork an Mork!"

The nobs around Rakdeff leaned in and the pale ork spoke in a low, raspy whisper, "Deys comin'... Da humies is comin'. A whole crumpin' lot of 'em. A 'umie waaaagh. They's in space now. All da ships and da big armored nob 'umies is wit 'em. Soon dey'll be a proppa fight 'ere. None o' dis pansy killin' we's 'ad. Blood'll make rivaz and we'll gnaw on dere bones. We'll grow big 'an strong. Get all da scrap 'an build a totem ta Gork 'an Mork ta please 'em. We'll ride it inta battle and 'ave the honor of da gods. Send a message to da big boss dat da 'umies is cummin' an we wanna make an alliance. No sense fightin' among ourselves anymore. Dere's a bigga fight on da way..."

The nobs muttered and roared in shock to each other. Making an alliance with the other warbosses? Still, da prophet had spoken and da prophet was never wrong. They scrambled to comply.

Flashes of red light briefly illuminate the confines of the twisted metal wreckage of the stompa, before darkness smothers it again. Heavy breathing can be heard from the end of the large hallway that has been carved out of the metal debris, sat on a throne made of the same twisted, fused metal. The dark shape stirs, impatient, brooding, casting new shadows along the corridor.
"Boss, anuvva one ta see ya." The ork, clad in heavy golden armour, bowed briefly to the throne before moving to the side to join the ranks of the golden phalanx of his kin surrounding it.
The Ork on the throne reared up to it's full height: dwarfing a regular ork with it's sheer mass, even larger than a Killa Kan. In fact, some even believed that the Warboss wasn't an Ork at all, but some kind of half-ork, half-metal monstrosity. It certainly looked that way.

"And why be ya disturbin' me? Why do ya come ta Warboss Skulkrusha?"
He crashed off the dias, lumbering in his titanic suit of mega-armour. "Dis betta be werf it. Dey weren't." The huge power-klaw on his left arm gestured to the shredded bodies of orks from other tribes and clans either side of the throne room. The four chainblades of the power klaw revved in anticipation, each one the size of an umie priest's supa-chainsword.
"Warboss, da Prophet-"
"Da Prophet 'as NEVVA prophecized nuffin'! Ee's just a weak, pale, weedy little-"
"Da Prophet 'as called an alliance." The newcomer interjected. Skulkrusha froze.
"An... alliance?" He began to laugh, blood and spit flying from his jaws. The other orks joined in, rolling around the chamber. "Mad! Ee's mad! Dis one comes in 'ere, INTERRUPTS me and now dere's talk of an ALLIANCE?!" The chainsaws cycled up to a faster speed, the whirring now audible over the laughter.
"Da blue umies'll be dere." The noise stopped. Skulkrusha regarded the ork with beady red eyes, intent on malice.
"Wot?"
"Da beakies. Dat Ultramarine. And uvvas. A proppa good fight."

Skulkrusha turned his back to the ork herald. A blue Space Marine's helmet was lanced over the top of the throne, a white symbol emblazoned over the crest. A set of claw marks ran downward across the left side of the helm, made by a unique set of chainblades. The bone could still be seen beneath. Skulkrusha now became aware of his old battle wound, just below his adamantium ribcage. It hurt, but not in pain. In vengeance.

"We'll be dere. My boyz are ready for a good scrap. But on one condishun. Da blue beaky boss? Ee's MINE, 'ear me? Mine."
"Good as yours, boss." The herald left, his ears perked a little higher than they had been before he'd left. As he walk out of the Stompa's belly hold, he heard Skulkrusha bellow behind him.
"Get Kommanda Kogwotsit to ready 'is flyboyz. And get me my good shoota. Da one wiv da rokkit on. We got some work ta do."

Spoiler:
Added on request.
Waaagh! Skulkrusha has joined the fray, consisting of:

- Warboss Skulkrusha himself.
- Boss Gorgutz, Skulkrusha's rumoured spore-son, and his mob, "Da Golden Klaws", the Warboss' 300 strong bodyguard.
- Boss Skarshank, Dragnitz and Forgunk, commanding their bands, "MekLads", "Bloodmashas" and "Skullsplittas", each about two thousand strong.
- Kommanda Kogwotsit, the flight commander of the Deffkopta and Dakkajet Skwadrons and Stormboyz Brigades, numbering several hundred craft and stormboyz.
- "Da Golden 'Arvester", Skulkrusha's personal Stompa, maintained by a faithful Mekboss, Clankajak.

Meanwhile, on the surface of Grimdi....

"This is Primus. Ork outpost spotted at..." Scout Sergeant Primus adjusted the scope of his trusty sniper rifle." [i]...five hundred meters. Twenty Orks in the courtyard, estimated another twenty in the barracks. One sweep should clear the base."

The Death Ravens' Scout squad had set up in a forested hill beside the Orks' position, their sniper rifles firmly aimed at the outpost's sentries. A small group of riders from the 11th Forsian awaited their signal beyond the hill, just out of sight of the outpost. The roars of the Greenskins and the clanking of their equipment were carried across the valley by the wind, the noise audible even on the other side of the hill.

"Is that a promise, Sergeant?" Captain Holt asked, as he motioned his riders to prepare themselves.

"A calculated guess."

Holt smiled. He was beginning to like this Sergeant.

"As long as your calculations include my men walking out of that outpost without several knives sticking in their chest, I'm all ears, Sergeant", Holt replied. He looked to his men. They were battle-hardened riders, each a veteran of more than a dozen campaigns against the Orks. They'd been performing reconnaissance actions for the past two days alongside Sergeant Primus and his scouts, relaying Ork positions to the Strike Cruiser orbiting the planet.

"You still haven't told me why this outpost deserves to receive the Emperor's wrath prior to the other ones, Sergeant." He knew the Astartes were an aloof bunch sometimes (he remembered his first deployment alongside the Dark Angels all too well), but he never got used to their tendency to not inform their subordinates of crucial details.

"You'll see why soon enough", came the snappy reply over the vox.

Slightly irritated, Holt signaled is men to move into position.

"I don't like surprises, Sergeant."

"Neither do I."

Holt sighed. He sincerely hoped that the Death Ravens knew what they were doing.

"The Orks are coming out of the barracks now, Captain", Primus spoke. "Wait for our signal."

Holt's body tensed. His men were tensed too, he could feel it. They always were, no matter how many times they had charged into an enemy line already. The horses were breathing heavily in anticipation. He hated waiting.

Five sniper shots fired in unison, disrupting the noise that hung in the air. The sound of explosions filled the air, drowning out the confused shouts of the startled Greenskins.

"Now."

"Forwards, men! For the 11th and for the Emperor! Charge!", Holt shouted over the cacophony of sounds coming from over the hill.

The horses sprang forwards, galloping at a speed ordinary horses couldn't hope to ever reach. The specific gene-treatment they had endured had turned them into strong, muscular and hellishly fast steeds. Holt couldn't help but stare at the sight of such perfect genetic engineering, as he drove his own horse forwards into the fray.

The few Orks still standing squinted their eyes in an attempt to peer through the smoke coming from exploded fuel canisters and wrecked vehicles, but only caught a mere glimpse of the armoured lance that was charging them. The riders slammed through the Ork ranks, sending several of them flying, crushing those unfortunate enough to be in their way and impaling the ones who remained. Their spears thrust deeply into Greenskin flesh, ripping the Orks limb from limb, mercilessly running them down. Holt aimed for a lone Nob who was attempting to get the horde under control, appearing right in front of the terrified Ork as he burst from the smoke. In one stroke, Holt jammed his spear firmly into the Ork's throat, his speed wresting the head free from its body.

It was over in less than a minute. The riders stopped on the far end of the outpost, their bodies and horses covered in thick layers of blood. Holt noted no casualties among his men, which relieved him more than he would ever admit.

He saw the Scouts already making their way down the hill, their rifles still smoking from the covering fire they had laid down.

"I guess you were right, Sergeant", Holt spoke to the arriving Astartes.

"As said, a calculated guess", the Sergeant replied, seemingly pleased at the riders' performance. "Your men fight well, Captain."

Holt beamed with pride.

"Thank you, Sergeant", he said, as he descended from his horse. "Now, tell me, why are we here?"

The Sergeant's face darkened. His eyes turned towards the Ork's barracks.

"Follow me."

The Sergeant started walking towards the ramshackle hut, Holt following slowly in his wake. The Sergeant seemed...concerned, or at least troubled, Holt noted. He remembered the words of his commanding officer, back in the days when he was just a regular rider.

"When the men get worried, you send in the tanks. When the officers get worried, you send in the air support. When Command gets worried, you send in the artillery. But when an Astartes gets worried... you best hope you have what it takes to face what's coming to you."

The last words kept repeating in Holt's mind as he approached the door, where the Sergeant was waiting. He gave Holt a stern look, before slowly and carefully opening the door.

What lay within sent shivers down his spine.

"...Terra preserve us..." Holt whispered, as he looked at the body hanging from the rafters...

Dead space marine? Of Chaos or Loyalist origin, both are enough to cause a space marine some anger, let alone a rider. If we're looking for more xenos, you could say it's a slain 'nid, those are never fun.

I was thinking of either some horrible Chaos mutant, a slain 'nid, or a dead Necron warrior; although a dead Space Marine could work too....
