Those look great!

What's the story on the white armor? Clan significance, use of cloud cover, following ice storms left behind by Beastclaw raiders?

Anyway, good luck in your tourneys!

Thanks BK! They are a Grundstock Mercenary outfit that sells their services to the Free Cities which is why they don't wear the colours of a known Skyport and instead have a more military look. They won't ever be a whole army but a growing contingent in my larger Freeguild/Mixed Order army.

And the tournament is going well. Won Best Painted on the Friday Skirimish event with my Bloodbound (up against Ben Johnson's incredible Stormcast of White Dwarf fame, so really happy to get that).

Right now I am half way through the main event, sitting on 2 Major Wins and 1 Major Loss (wow, Murder Host is brutal). These Endrinriggers were the MVP in the first game and I pulled off the one thing I dreamed of doing with them. Total Conquest, I am getting beaten by a Tzeentch army but holding onto my objectives. They move off one of theirs for the killing blow, but before it is delivered the Endrinriggers grapnel hooks onto a bit of terrain and zips them onto a back objective scoring me 2 VPs that got me the win! Super happy with them!

They look much better painted! I agree that the white/red are good color choices, it gives a very realistic amanita muscaria look that contrasts well with the static grass.

Haha, that win is epic!

Any chance you could tell me the enemy your endrinrigger dodged? I'd like to make a sketch of that.

Also, cool to hear their mercenary angle. I'm going for a similar thing but as a royal balloon corps hired by my kingdom.

Holy Terra.

I finished up a unit of plague monks and a plague priest to accompany them.

The pics really don't do the models justice (I didn't have the correct lights with me when I took the photo), so I'll try and get some better pics tomorrow.

It's been a while since I worked on my Skeleton army, but now that I've got another tournament coming up, I found the necessary motivation to finally put my copy of SC: Skeleton Horde together. One could question whether or not that's such a good idea, as the reason I stopped working on them in the first place was being horrendously defeated in a tournament.

Oh well. You live and you learn, right?

Anyways, I decided to run my skeletons as Tomb Kings this time, with a Tomb King on Exalted Chariot as my General. Problem was, I didn't have a model for him yet, and the Mortarch model didn't feel appropriate for the job (and it's ridiculously complicated to put together), so I had to improvise a little...

Behold, the Grand Hierarch of the Forgotten Tombs!

What do you all think? Is this an appropriate stand-in for Not-Settra?

I am putting together a Game of Thrones Night's King themed Beastclaw Raiders army and wanted to try out the theme on some Ogre Gutbusters I have been using for our home D&D game.

All Ogors in the list will be painted like White Walkers and I am using the Vampire Counts undead looking Dire Wolves to look like resurrected Frost Sabers. I am considering using Tyranid Gargoyles (without the blasters of course) as resurrected Blood Vultures.

Here are a couple quick shots of the Gutbusters just to test out the theme.

Been working on these guys for a while, but finally finished the horse version this week. I call this "The Stages of Archaon".

Some closer angles on this guys. First, the rare on-foot version:
Spoiler:

Next, Archaon the Everchosen (on horseback)

Spoiler:

Finally, Archaon: Grand High Marshall of the Apocalypse

Spoiler:

Oh, that's neat to see the progression. Is it odd to like archaon on foot best? he seems just seems so solid and unyielding there.

Saw the Blightwar set at FGS this weekend but the only thing I'm interested in was the Neave character. Since that model's running $35 or so on ebay and I don't want the boxed set, I'm coverting a proxy using an extra liberator and vanguard hunter bits.

Just finished up a Lord Relictor for my small skirmish force, replacing the head with a bare Space Marine one and a less over-the-top relic from the top of a Grey Knights banner pole.

Nice work on both the head and the hourglass! And that's a great idea for the banner thing; the original is way too big and spiky for my tastes, i might look around for something similar

Thanks! I'm not as happy with the sand in the hourglass, but I do like how I was able to get a good glass effect by just brushing on some Vallejo Gloss Varnish.

I just didn't like how the original relic on his staff was as large as he was!

Sweet models, AegisGrimm, EnTyme and Pensfan!

I've been working on my Vampire Counts-gone-Tomb-Kings army some more, in an attempt to get everything ready for the tournament next Saturday. So far, I've finished up 5 more Skeleton Warriors (with some help from the girlfriend), and built the 10 other Skeleton Warriors I needed to fill out the unit. Forgot to take pictures of the undead buggers, though

Also, I've been playing around with the contents of the Thunder & Blood starter box that recently came into my possession, trying figure out what I want to do with the lot. I've decided to use the Chaos half to bulk out my Hosts of Slaanesh army, and to create a small warband for AOS Skirmish. The Skirmish warband will consist of a couple of Chaos Warriors and some Marauders, all converted to fit the warband's fluff (which I'm still working out).

Here's a pic of one of the first members of the warband, a converted Chaos Warrior:

The inspiration for this conversion came from the lovely fellows at Wargamers' Workbench, who have created some awesome Nurgle Chaos Warriors out of the Blood Warriors. However, they did commit foul heresy by not including the Warriors' fancy capes (I don't blame them, though; attaching the cape to the body was a bloody nightmare), but I'm sure Nurgle will be able to forgive them for that

Nice work, having dealt with similar conversions before I can appreciate how much work goes into fitting that cloak on there! But you are right, it would have been foul heresy to leave it off.

Picked up an old Great Taurus for my beast woman army. I kind of went to town with the green stuff. I hope to have it painted before the end of the week.

I have also been working on this since before the second edition book dropped. It was going to be a stand in for Gorthor the Beastlord. Sadly Gorthor became the generic Beastlord on Chariot, which would have been fine except that they took away the brayherd keyword. So the majority of the time this model is on the table top it will probably just be a standard beastman chariot. Needless to say this one is going to take a bit longer to get painted.

To those that say there is no stupid questions I say, "Is this a stupid question?"
