Awesome job there, MM. The Dragon Ogres have always been one of the most unique things about GW's fantasy game. I'm surprised they never bothered fleshing out that model line a little more.

Finally finished Alarielle. Not sure why, but one of the pictures didn't upload. I'll try again later.

In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE

Nice work Mongoosematt and EnTyme!

I've been working on my Skirmish warband some more, I managed to put 4 of the 5 converted Chaos Warriors together, and figured out what I'm going to do with the last one.

Here's a group shot of the 4 Chaos Warriors and their boss:

And here's a closer pic of the leader, who got himself a new head. I'm not sure if it's better than the helmet I gave him previously, though... although this one does shout "evil angry viking" more

Tactical_Spam: Ezra is fighting reality right now.

War Kitten: Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...

You did good their Auticus. I was eating breakfast while looking at your pics and I almost gagged. Your minis are that good to gross me out while eating.

Now I hope I can recreate what you did.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

It's not a good Nurgle paint job unless you can almost smell it. Outstanding work, Auticus.

How big is that model roughly? I've never been able to get a good sense from the images and no one around me has one. I love the snail/thing used as the mount, its the kind of thing I think of when I envision nurgle monsters.

Geeze it must be well over a year since I've posted around here, Uni has been eating up all of my hobby time but I've managed some painting recently, and more importantly I borrowed a camera to get some good pics.

My most recent project:

Spoiler:

I think I screwed up the blade itself, and the face could be better, but otherwise am really happy with him.

Prior to him came this guy:

Spoiler:

Another which is older at this point but I don't think I've shared here and these are new pics so enjoy

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Dude on the back is the same size as a normal HoN, if that helps.

Standard colour scheme, I know... But not my main faction anyway and I did like painting polished gold.... Not something I paint very often.

Looks good, I like the red! But did you REALLY need to paint her torso like that?

When they first showed her off, I told myself: "If I ever get my hands on that model, I'm going to paint her abs." And so I did.

But I also snipped off her high heels if that counts for anything.

Just ordered some bits to convert the SCE from Shadespire (they'll have axes instead of hammers!) and finished building my Sylvaneth starter box... Gunna prime them soon and paint them up to look burnt/on fire/charcoal!

I took some pictures in the lightbox today, only to realise most of them had a slightly out of focus front model... But still, I did make progress and finished the starterset!

It starts off with a basecoat of retributor armor mixed with about 50% vallejo model air tank brown (any dark brown should do though). I airbushed that one, but you really need a large-ish nozzle and good thinning to airbrush GW metallics.

Then zenithal highlight of pure Retributor armor, followed by a mix of retributor armor and silver (same applies for big nozzle and adequate thinning.

It's all given a coat of Armypainter quickshade strong tone.

Then a layer of dullcote, followed by an edge highlight of pure silver and some micro-sratches here and there.

Really nice job!

Does the floor of faces make him a Slaanesh worshipper since they keep their beauty and it goes against Khorne's skull carpets?

Also, awesome work on that skeleton leader, Kanluwan.

The eye coloring is very creepy and his cape looks like it's drenched in blood.

Eye-coloring is easy peasy. A drop of Guilliman Glaze in the eye sockets which were left Ceramite White. Let it start dry and kind of 'tease' it out a bit with a toothpick.

The cape might need a rework if it looks blood soaked...it's meant to be a purple that's faded over time.

If you're looking for faded purple, I would suggest a gradient into a pale pink (something like Fulgrim Pink) and fading into a fleshy color like Kislev Flesh.
