So I did some looking around and couldn't find a recent thread with a topic like this, though I'm sure there have been plenty before, so I decided to make this one for some kicks.

Questions:

1. What Imperial Guard regiment would you want join?

2. Name the top three MOS's (jobs) you would want in your chosen Guard regiment.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'll start it off.

Guard Regiment: The Death Korps of Krieg (Because they are my favorite Imperial Guard unit.)

MOS's (jobs):

1. Grenadier with flamethrower

2. Normal Krieg Infantryman with flamethrower (I know it's not that different from the first but I like setting stuff on fire!)

3. Heavy Weapons Operator with Autocannon

This, and preferably in a high ranking or an elite regiment.
The regiment acting as personal palace guard for a noble on a safe planet would be a start.

Well irregardless of the job, I'd probably want to be Vostroyan simply because I would get quality training to keep me alive, quality gear, and actually not get abandoned to die to some gribbly space monster if things go sour like most other Regiments.

I would want to be in a Militarum Tempestus regiment. Preferably the 54th Psian Jackals.
They have sick punisher-like armor.
Also I would have some better training, armor, and weapons.

Outside of that, it wouldn't really matter, as long as I have my trusty Imperial Infantryman's Handbook.

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]

The Burble

Savlar Chem Dog with a missile launcher. Nothing like tripping balls on hallucinogens and blowing up gak with rockets.

Plus their gear can be excellent, since they keep whatever they find on the battlefield. Archeotech pistol? Spyer suit? Some noble colonels master crafted heirloom power sword? Don't mind if I do.

Downside: everyone else in your regiment is pretty much a sociopathic serial killer on the strongest aggression enhancing drugs mankind can synthesize. I'm guessing they don't spend a lot of time in garrison.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

Tanith, and then not tell anybody my name, so I can't be killed off in a poignant moment. Also because they're pretty much guaranteed not to suffer a regimental wipe as it'll end the series early. Them's better odds than most.

That or a PDF commissar, so I can actually get to know people rather than seeing them die.

3000pts XIIth Legiones Astartes 8th Assault Company. (Pre heresy)

I'd like to be a Catachan, maybe in some veteran ambushing unit.

Plus our chances of being sent home to Catachan would be basically nil so that's a bonus.

I know you said imperial guard but I want to throw my lot in with the mechanicus's Skitarii.

A skitarii Alpha of a ranger squad armed with a rifle and sword, that would be fun... Stalking through ruins blasting things from afar and bringing death to the enemies of the imperium using the most high tech weaponry given to grunts...

only the removing of eye-lids would be a bit icky, but I can deal with everything else.

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

This. Otherwise your life expectancy is measured in seconds. Better have fun with those awesome toys while you can!

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
