So even as a primary force, I can only use the Inquisitorial detachment which is 1 mendatory HQ and 1 optional HQ and 3 optional elites.

From the inquisition codex :
''If you take Inquisitors as a primary detachment, use the Inquisitorial detachment Force
Organisation chart instead of the primary detachment Force Organisation chart.''

How does it work out if I want to make a only inquisition army.
Am I allowed to take a inquisition primary detachment with an allied inquisition detachment? Either allies or primary they both seem to have the same detachment lay-out. So if I want more troops then only 3 elites how do I work that out? I know we're allowed unbound and all of that but if I want to stay with a legit force chart following army... how 'my suppose to do that?

I don't understand.

You can just keep taking the inquisition detachment, then you pick which is your primary.

You could make a bound army with nothing but Inquisitors.

You can field a potentially infinite number of detatchments, and the Inquisition Detatchment can count as both allies and Primary, so you could literally field an army of 40 Inquisitors all in the same Unit.

To quote a fictional character... "Let's make this fun!"

There was a story in the SM omnibus where a single kroot killed 2-3 marines then ate their gene seed and became a Kroot-startes.

We must all join the Kroot-startes...

Yeah. Only issue us most tourneys require 2 detachments so you're kinda forced into a big beefy land raider Death Star for at least one unit.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

As a side note, you asked about an Inquisition Allied detachment. At this point, the only detachment the Inq can take is the Inquisitorial one. Lacking troops, they can't fill the mandatory slots in an Allied detachment.

Welcome to the Freakshow!
