Hi everyone,

I have just posted part 1 of my own review on the new White Scars rules from War Zone Damocles. http://standwargaming.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/new-white-scars-rules-review-part-1.html

The first part covers warlord traits, Relics and the new maelstrom cards. Part 2 (tomorrow) will cover the new formations available. Overall, I like the new rules and formations, they are very thematic for the White Scars and give you some different playing styles to try out and some new rules to use (some of which are incredibly powerful, Hunter's Eye anyone?).

Are you happy about the new rules? Anyone hoping that other Chapters get similar treatment in future expansions?

The new Formations in Kauyon are pretty good (the RG's moreso than the WS', imo), but they all still fall pretty short of the Gladius, unfortunately. That is not necessarily all bad though, since you could probably play a Talon strike force and still have friends after

I've never used the Gladius, certainly not for the free transports (I simply don't own enough in my Scars to field two battle demi-companies).

The Kauyon formations are pretty good. The fact you can use the Battle Demi-Company to gain ObSec on some units and still run a bike focused army with the other formations is great. Perhaps not 500 pts of transports great, but still very good.
