From the depths of the deepest, darkest swamps of Relicia, the Cult of C’thu emerges. Its origins seeped in betrayal of the most heinous kind.

Lord C’thu commands his minions from the shadows, whispering his unholy wishes into the eager ears of his chosen avatars. One of these devotees has surpassed all others in his pursuit of power and has assumed the mantle of leader and with it the authority to conduct the affairs of the cult on behalf of his malevolent master, he his known as Xavius Prime and from the glades of the Krakenshearth he plots to bring a terrible plague of madness upon all of Relicia.

Relics is a tabletop wargame in the 28mm scale. Making use of the glorious D6, Relics uses the rolling of doubles as the main core mechanic for determining successes in combat. We may be wrong but we don't know of another game that used double for successes. Coupled with an alternating activation sequence, Relics is a fast and fun game where players aren't sitting around waiting for their go for long!

Oh man, looks intriguing! Only 3 unique sculpts on the warriors shown there, but if a few more unlock I must be able to find a use for these... will definitely be watching it

Add mantic Nameless Dreadball minis to taste and you've got a pretty good variety of stuff for fantasy or SF

I wasn't happy with how the Nameless came out unfortunately =( (loved the concepts, but the actual models I got were subpar). Might have just been bad casts in my case, though...

I assume these would be metal, right?

I'm guessing metal based on the other Relics stuff,

I was 'fortunate' to get most of my nameless in metal which worked better than the PVC

Why are 'rest of world' pledges cheaper then 'eu' ones when the company's based in UK?

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Might pledge £1.00 to pick up some add-ons but the starter set is far to expensive.

NM:
'Because Tor Gaming are a UK based VAT registered company, we have to charge VAT on all orders that are being shipped to an address within the EU and not charge VAT on orders being shipped outside the EU .

As such, backers who are outside the EU pay less for the same rewards at the time of pledging. The downside for those backers though is they may be subject to import tax when their reward goes through their local customs. This is why the RoW pricing is lower.'

Hmm. Still not entirely sure why this KS is mucking around with VAT adjustments when the vet seen no other gaming KS do it? It's not an order, it's a pledge ? Given you have to pony up £180 minimum to get anything you can't just buy at retail with a 10-20% discount, I'll pass on this.

How'd you get the 180 GBP figure, if I might ask? I thought it was reasonable to pay the RoW 30 quid for the starter set.

Based on the prices of other starters for Relics the KS is not offering any discount off retail, well for the UK anyway,

(which is fair enough KS can be worth backing just because you want the stuff made, not just for discounts)

however pledges of £180 get £20 of 'free' credit to spend so if you need a saving you'll have to spend big

There was a thread somewhere about the EU ruling that crowdfunding is subject to VAT.

Some of the unlocked models for this campaign look really great! I've just put in a pledge for their Hounds of Cantaaris, which they showed a VERY early WIP in one of the updates for - but it looks extremely promising

That's a good question, I can ask if you like!

Hoping this gets noticed by more folks as it's a really deserving project... and that hound render . I decided to up for several sets - will use them as genestealers for my gribbly tyranids army!

Having already pledged, I am so excited for this. Get in here guys!

That's not even looking at the other miniatures in the line, which are actually unique and beautiful. Not just 'sweet, a space marine with a new icon!' but actually unique.

Side note: I love space marines also.

Only 2 hours to go, and one backer shy of 100! Someone tip it over

I'm a little shocked this hasn't gotten more folks onboard, the hound render I posted above that they showed as a WIP is just magnificent!

I went in for some hounds. And access to the "store" after the fact. I'll figure out if I want anything else later.

I do find it funny they say 25% off but the numbers don't support that. Haven't had a chance to review comments or updates so did they address that anywhere?

Yeah there's a bit of discussion on it in the comments, it was due to VAT - maybe they'll fix that in the pledge manager for store items? Doesn't affect me of course as I'm here for the sculpts from the current campaign (those gribbly hounds!)

Just 30 minutes to go now! Last chance to put in a pound and get pledge manager access:

This is a hard pass, but not being able to get access to the store anymore chased me off.

They did open up the full store though - update here:

Wish I'd seen your post earlier, as it's closed now (although I'm sure they'd take a late backer ). Finished with 100 backers and just over $10K! A bummer about folks jumping in and out which was probably a bit rough for the creator, but I think the end total is quite nice and hopefully will see this nice line of minis made physical very soon

I'm not TBH, it's not difficult to list why this hasn't done better;

The 10k stretch only benefitted a small number of backers.

The free dice bag offer further divided those prepared to stump up £180.

Confusing rubbish about VAT gave the impression uk backers were getting done over.

Retail pricing.

Repetitive sculpts.

Social media engagement. Or tone of. You don't expand your fan base by listening purely to your fans.

Relics in itself. Game is blighted by errata and rules changes - last year they changed the retail packaging to make everything contain more, but be more expensive as a result. I tried, along with a friend, to raise interest , with little success. So much they do is counter productive such as their policy on using their logo, their ranger program (do all this to largely get the discount other online retailers offer).

Ultimately, as so many have said for years, it's not really a preorder so why does anyone outside those early birds want to risk the money and pay retail for the sake of free dice?

Well, those are good points! I like the gribbly minis here, and want to help them get made, but I definitely have no problem with folks who want to wait. I'm sure Tor would love for folks to keep an eye on things and buy them on release

I don't have any capacity for a new game right now, but these are useful for all sorts of things, which might not be true of some of the other Relics lines.

Anyway, sorry if I sound a bit like a fanboy but I don't really know much about the history of Relics, just that I love that render above

I was very tempted (hence they thread), but with Mierce and MidKnight Heroes running I just didn't have the cash to spare

ah well retail eventually no doubt, as you can never have enough mythosoids
