A couple of finished models. I've got my first Warhammer World game coming up in a few weeks, so I want to get a few things painted up. That'll be difficult at my usual rate, so I'd best get cracking.

This guy is Devastator Sergeant Grymm and has been finished a while.

An update on my final units for Warhammer World.

This cherub is now finished but I don't have pics of him complete. It's a zombie baby, so I'm aiming for creepy.





Then I've got the last few Vanguard Vets. They're almost finished. Just need the details finishing off.



Next up are the Sternguards. These are a mix of the old RT metal marines with plastic arms, and some equally old all metal mono-pose models. They've been given new Sternguard shoulder pads to differentiate them from regular marines. They're at the same point, just need details finishing off.



Then I've got some RTB01 marines that I'm using for a Tactical Squad. As awesome as these old fellas are, they really struggle from a lack of detail, and a lack of definition on the detail that is there.



I'll be happy if I can get all these finished by next weekend!

Amazingly, I got everything I wanted to finished for my game at Warhammer World.

First up, my RTB01 tactical squad. The models are quite basic in the details, but I'm reasonably happy with how they've come out. Pretty quick to paint too!

I've got some of them magnetised, so the serge can swap out that storm bolter for a combi-weapon, and a few others can have combi-weapons too.

Nice variety in the marines there. Looks like a fun little squad!

I prefer to think of it as a face with 'strong features'

I also got these guys finished off recently, my Vanguard Veterans. I already had 5 done, plus one as a librarian (and one as a captain - more on him later...), so that just left these 3.



As with my other vanguards, these are all magnetised at the shoulder, and some at the wrist too.







And this is them teamed up with the rest of the squad.

Wow! Almost a year since I last posted. I've not been doing much since the birth of my first child, but this what I've got finished since my last post (also, changed the name of my blog, given it's now all sorts of stuff, not just my oldhammer marines).

I started putting together an Orc Blood Bowl team. The team are still in progress, but I got the cheerleader finished towards the end of last year. This is an old metal model from the 90s.









And I've just finished the apothecary - another 90s metal model, with the right arm from a model in the original Necromunda game.







I've also just finished this terrain piece. I guess it's a water tower, chemical vat type thing. It's mostly a Pringle's tube, with a lasercut MDF platform and a bunch of wires and other stuff stuck on. I've also put some flashing red lights under the platform (with all the wiring, battery, switch etc hidden under the removable fan on top ).











Next up for me are my Blood Bowl team (2 thirds of the team are mostly finished, but I've got 4 models unstarted), some MDF terrain, and I've stupidly just bought Renegade, so have a Knight and more terrain to build and paint. So not sure what'll be next, or when. Watch this space!

I never got into bloodbowl. Fun concept, but those league style games don’t really mesh with my attendance at the FLGS.

Not sure how 'back' I am, but I'd like to start painting relatively regularly again. We'll see how it goes!

Well, regardless of what I said in my last post about painting knights, terrain or Blood Bowl, the next thing I finished was my drop pod for my Stark Crusaders.

I started this guy about 18 months ago, but it stalled for ages whilst I was distracted with other things.





The doors are magentised. It's a nice touch, but largely unnecessary. I think the doors would stay closed okay without them.





But my favourite bit is the console inside. When I was making it and saw the shape I just couldn't resist.







Not sure what's next. Still got the terrain built and waiting to be painted, and a half built knight. Watch this space.
