The prices certainly went up a lot from when they were WGF products.
Luckily I only need the rulebook, but the rest isn't the Mantic-killing deal I was expecting.

You're getting that message because you're in the US. When is auto switches to the US website it isn't offered. The preorder is only offered on the UK site.

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures. |

Seems like a reasonable deal to me in the UK as it is close to £1 a miniature. If comparing to the likes of Mantic's TWD and Zombicide remember these are HIPS and not PVC/restic as well. I hope that Warlord release some gameplay videos soon, they did a great job hyping GoA and I hope they can do the same here.

Interesting the survivor expansion sets are for 10 models, previously these kits came with 30 models.
Any chance they will be 1/3 the old price?

Probably more like 1/2 or 2/3 of the price =\ I don't need repeats of the oversexed lady zombies so uess they offer the new me ones individually I'm not sure I'll be getting them. One or more of the bikers and soldiers though...definitely. Rules are a toss up, not sure I'd buy into them blind.

I just don't think they will be 1/3 of the price, things are just more expensive in the UK. That is obviously a double whammy with exchange rates/postage for those in the US/ROW. I assume that Warlord have distribution in certain parts of the world so hopefully online retailers can offer a discount to partially offset any price increases. We must also remember that Warlord have altered the sprues and created the game so some of those costs have to be paid for.

Whilst I have always been a fan of the genre I never had much interest in WGF, which is why I think Warlord Games taking over/distributing there sprues is a great things as they can reach a wider audience.

Ouch. While merging the male and female zombies into one box made sense (female zombies still seem bigger though) it never occurred to me that Warlord might reduce the model count in survivor boxes by so much although it probably makes sense from a rules point of view (no doubt why the model count in the spec ops box is even lower).

Interesting to see what the new boxed set prices will be. I picked up the old male and female survivor boxed sets for €19,99 each. Also curious to see whether or not these redone boxed sets will include the extra sprue with arms and weapons, otherwise you're in for a very boring set of models with limited options.

I'm sure there will be, but not one that's proportional to the old price per model. My guess is £12 per box on the survivors and spec ops.

The price for the Bolt Action plastics is very reasonable, but I think the problem is with the WGF stuff we were pretty spoilt by how cheap they were.
But, they were a Chinese operation and now it looks like the distribution is moving to Europe then of course you are going to get some of a price rise. Personally, even if it's a bit above what we paid before it's still going to be a good deal relatively (and I can't talk enough about HIPs over some of the other stuff out there)
At the very least will pick up the special ops guys and biker gang, will have a look at the rules alongside the Walking Dead Ones and choose whichever one does the better job!

I don't mind the 1 sprue+Accessory Sprue survivor repacks, so long as the price is right (no more than £12ish, before discount). The Soldiers I was looking to get one box of and be done, if I have to buy three or so at the inflated price I'll probably pass for the forseeable future.

The US ordering is working now. The bundle is $175.
NWS ( http://yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net ) will be adding the deal to their store soon. It will be cheaper there, but NWS does add shipping cost to whatever price they list. I've found their prices very reasonable, and they will generally also lower prices to match when Warlord has a sale. I've gotten a lot of Bolt Action stuff through them.

If the conversion follows the same way as the AWI kits that went from WGF to Warlord, price per model should stay close to $1 per figure which is higher than the original WGF price but still reasonable.
As examples, the RRP for the woodland indians, colonial militia and continental infantry are all now at +/- $1 per figure.
On the other hand, the Project Z figs come with extra weapon sprues so maybe they'll turn out to be more expensive. Either way, with Warlord now in the chain as a middleman, there was bound to be a price increase.

Hmm, I'm counting the $170 bundle has 96 miniatures plus 4 motorcycles, a pack of feral dogs, and then the game itself (several books, tokens, custom dice, custom card decks, etc), w free shipping worldwide. Considering the retooling (especially of male zombies) and that Warlord is now a distributor (versus WGF being their own distributor), seems like a not insignificant deal. Also, NWS Online and Miniature Market carry Warlord at 20% off or more, so I can see this bundle being available for $130, which is then actually a good deal. Puts it in Mantic deal land, but with, like, infinitely better miniatures.

I never said it was bad. Just not nearly as good as the WGF costs. Bundle is definitely not for me, couldn't possibly use that much more of everything.
Starting fresh, the base game would be nice. But it would have to come cheap for it to be useful to me now as all I'd get out of the retail set would be the bikers and 10 zombie dudes (and rules, I do want those...but not sure if I want them with the dead weight of MORE vixens and repeated male survivors).
Happy to wait for the bikers and soldiers to hit MM. Maybe the metal dogs if they're good and offered separately. Doesn't sound like the male zombies are going to be available solo which is sad making. I do appreciate being able to get smaller packs of the soldiers/bikers, 30 of each type of survivor was probably too much. I just hope the individual pack costs don't skyrocket.

You know... I just realized this game plays in the incredibly odd numbers of 1-3 players...
Solo play for a proper miniatures game makes me hope it has campaign progression. I'd love to risk/advance my crew solo on occasion in between game nights with friends or the wife. I'll go out on a limb and guess in three player games, someone plays the zombies versus two other, likewise antagonistic crews?
Fingers powerfully crossed on a good rule set.

1 player implies AI rules for the Zs
Perhaps with an option for a player to take control of them?
Agree though, campaign progression is a must for this kind of thing. Hopefully between this and WTD one of them will have got it !

Hmm AFAIK NWS Online has the Warlord deals as well. Mini Market is a more traditional retailer though so only has the normal trade items. If I was going to choose between this and TWD I'd need to see rules and a starter price before the end of that campaign.
Bikers are really cool. Seems weird to be this close to release and know nothing about the rules. I wonder what kind of post release support we will see?
The soldier kit looks interesting. The TWD has more interesting factions, assuming they get funded. The latest faction in the comics is really unique and would offer interesting possibilities game play wise.
Hard plastic bikers and zombies would make for a bit of hobby fun too!
