Old ethereal models came on the smaller basses but after getting the one on a hover drone, it seems they can go on terminator bases. I'm not aware of the ethereal having any special rules to differentiate it from a normal one, so would it be reasonable to give all ethereal models bigger bases if the newest one set the standard for bigger bases?

I see no reason why i would need to change bases. The old models are still been sold on site so i guess not.

3000 - 天空人民军队
1500
2000+ - The Sun'zu Cadre.
2000 Pt of Genestealers
1500 Pt of Sisters

Whatever base you like, for gameplay i'd keep them on the old 28mm, for creativity and aesthetics a larger base might provide more opportunities.

I think all sense of what models are 'supposed' to be based on has gone out the window recently.

You're models, put them on whatever size you like.

You use the base that came with the model. Changing it afterwards to match similar current models is your choice as the owner. But I can tell you, my old Hive Tyrant is still on her 40mm base that it was sold with, even though modern versions are on 60mm.

lulz. you are modeling for advantage if you put your Aura model on a larger base. after all, who knows what you could cover with that extra 6mm of aura coverage. . .

however, if you really wanted coverage, get a manta.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Space Pope came on a 40mm base, if I remember correctly. That model isn't available any more.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Short answer, no.

Longer answer, base size should correspond the model size. The new ethereal with hover drone is on a larger base because of the size of the drone. A terminator base (40mm) would be far too big for a tiny ethereal on foot. So, any ethereal on foot really needs to be on a 25mm base.

He should be on his own base or on the base of the new version of him. He should not be on the base of a terminator since you know he isnt a terminator ; _)

Although etherials do make for good basing materials for terminators. Mangle him up a little, but the boot on his neck, call it a day.
