I got the new daemon data cards, just wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any restrictions on using the powers? Like only being allowed to roll half of a pysker's powers like in the Daemons codex; or some such?

Unless the "limited to only 500 copies worldwide" ultra expensive updated 'codex' changed things, then no, we're still limited to rolling up to half our powers from the new God lores.
The rules book from CotW didn't change the actual codex wording regarding how to generate our psychic powers, thus by RAW, we're still screwed.

Be sure to check with any event organiser about the issue, and (hopefully) your play group will be kind and house rule away that now pointless rule.
RAI is pretty clear; we have a full psychic lore now, and the old rule was meant to prevent Lv3's from automatically knowing their respective God's entire lore. We should be able to roll all of our powers now if we so choose, just like everyone else!

Unfortunately, GW just loves to screw over Chaos in general, because we're not allowed to have nice things.

I've mailed GW on the issue but so far not received any reply.

So frustrating that they indicate in the preamble of the Scions of the Warp booklet that the rules replace, update and supplement the ones in the Codex but then fail to note what sections replace, update and supplement what!

The way it is worded strongly suggests the rules in the booklet are separate, since you can also use the artifacts and the warlord traits in both codex and booklet at the same time without having the old ones supplanted.

My personal opinion is that RAI, the psychic power pages in the new release directly replace those in the codex, thereby removing the "up to half" restriction. RAW it's just not clear, which is unfortunate.

I contacted the FLG crew on this and Reece thought that RAI was so clear that they won't be putting this up for a vote - you'll just get to generate normally (with no restriction). So if you use the ITC FAQ/ruleset, you're good to go.

Even if you don't, I think that any reasonable person would feel the same way
