Can definitely see a lot of improvement as these pics have progressed. Well done. I especially like the yellow and grey marine scheme

Cheers
I do feel though like my skill level is kind of up and down. Like sometimes i'll be able to create something awesome and then others it really doesnt work out as planned.
Maybe its because they're miniatures and when you see them bigger when they actually are you see all the imperfections. I dont know but its something to work towards i guess.

Hey all
Been a while huh? Thats the joys of being a Games Producer

Anyways. Here is my latest work.

I wanted to try something organic in nature. I think it came out pretty well for a first try. When i get him done i'll build the other and maybe try another colour scheme.

Hey guys
Sorry ive been away for 6 months. Work got busy and stressful.
But i'm back now and working on some projects.

First off is a Star Destroyer i got for Xmas. Below is my process:

Building:
The buidling process was quick and fun. The plastic the Retell Models use seems to be softer than what i'm used to with GWS.

Priming:
I used Vallejo black primer for the priming. Honestly i dont like it and i'm just using it to finish the can. Then i'll be switching back to GWS.

Basing:
Just a simple all over base of Mechanicus Standard Grey. It took two coats.

Washing:
An all over wash of Nuln Oil. I did attempt to do it as a recess shade but i think it turned out better like this.

Dry Brushing:

Finally i did a dry brush of Mechanicus again to bring out the details. I did it in all directions to grab as much details as possible.

I'm going to do a few more minor tweaks to it but i think its pretty damn good

Phil

So i got it finished.
What i did was basically to another dry brush but much lighter and only in one direction. So from nose to the engines on the top and bottom.
I also painted the engines. Blue all over, then light blue "flickers" and a white dot in the middle. Since the cones dont stop before the edge i didnt do any flooding of the engine plate.

What do you all think

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So i've spent a few hours priming and basing some more of my Suns Solar Models

as you can see with the top image i've started on the colour scheme as well and its turning out pretty good so far

Morning all.
Here is a small update on the Marine Squad:

So they've now got their platinum base and just need the earthy colours to balance. Plus some gold for the trim.
My biggest challenge is actually in the back. Trying to apply the colours scheme to something bigger has been an interesting puzzle.

Next step for this guy is the gold try and i'm thinking about what to put in those panels on his legs. Any suggestions would be welcome

Nice work on the Star Destroyer, really nice model.

Space Matine stuff is looking good too.

So i've worked a little bit more on my Suns Solar Dreadnaught

The more i work on it the more i'm kinda getting a Regal feel from it.
To that end i've added some gold trim and done a base of grey which will be white in the panels.
I'll do an all over shade of Agrax on the gold and a recess shade of Agrax on the white.
Then it'll just be details do to. I plan on doing chains in normal metal and the skulls in Blue.
Then it'll be a case of edge highlights in the appropriate colours

The model is mostly finished now just deciding how to do the Emblem on the back. And then it'll be the arms to focus on.

Thoughts?
