So its like my 3rd or 4th game with my Renegades and Heretics. I think I still have some cardboard tanks, but very few infantry proxies. I am playing a BA player, awesome sport, one of the coolest players at the shop. I've got a full Tzeentch platoon, decked out with double melta and double autocannon, sigil and vox, 20 strong. among many other things. He has a stormraven filled with tons of murder. Big unit of death company, mephiston, and a DC dreadnought. Thing flies right up to my front door and unloads into one of my tanks, I think it was my Macharius omega. Does a few hull points.
So my platoon moves up, I open fire, he doesn't jink even though I snap shot at BS2. Autocannons deal a lucky hull point. A single melta hits, I roll a pen, and it blows up the Storm raven. Crash and burn, doesn't scatter. Every single death company dies, Mephiston survives, the dreadnought gets immobilized. After that we shook hands, as it was a major turning point. If that unit had assaulted, it could have done serious damage, but he lost something like half his army to a single renegade shot.
It made me very proud of my little renegades.

I had just started playing.. probably my second game with my own army as Tau. I was playing against Daemons and getting absolutely destroyed. by turn 3 I had 1 broadside, 7 firewarriors, and a commander left. I huddled everybody into a single piece of terrain just trying to survive, the mysterious obj gets rolled and its skyfire. My opponent is marching his 20 cultist zombies (he had that hq that makes them zombies) and a bunch of other daemon units (cant remember which) towards my pocket of tau while a daemon prince is just flying everywhere roasting the remains of my army. With my last remaining broadside and his HRR/SMS I shoot down the prince.. While my fire warriors manage to gun down the zombie hoard just as they got ready to charge. Daemon prince is grounded in charge range (i was a noob) and... he dies to Overwatch fire! This allowed me to leave my safe haven and spread out onto objectives, winning me the game by 1 point in the end

His Storm Raven comes in, it's packing like 10 Death Company, Chaplain, Death Company Dreadnought.
It mows down an entire squad of my Chaos Space Marines except for 1 guy with a meltagun.
Guy passes leadership test.
My turn: I'm going to shoot your Storm Raven with my melta gun.
Ok you need 6's
Rolls a 6.
Well, you don't get the melta rule because of my ceramite plating so... you need a 4+.
Rolls a 6.
Well I have 5+ inv save.
Rolls a 1.
Well you need a 6 to blow up my Storm Raven.
Roll a 6.
All of them die. My Chaos marine turns around, puts on sun glasses and walks off into the sunset smoking a cigar.
Please tell me you got that one model sitting on a shrine made of the dice you used that game somewhere.... That's just pure awesome! haha

The cultists ran forwards, weathering the hail of bullets for two turns, miraculously only a few of the brotherhood fell as many of the bullets missed or were miraculously saved.
They charged on the third turn, through the rubble of the ruined city at the assault terminators who had struck in their path. Vraks challenged the cobalt captain and smote his ruin upon the ground before he could swing his thunderhammer.
The Gods of Chaos gestured with contempt and bestowed upon Vraks additional strength. The terminators all fell in the same melee at the same time.
Turn four and the brotherhood immediately charged the next enemy, a tactical squad. Vraks bellowed a challenge and was met in battle by another cobalt champion. The captain swung his powersword thrice times but missed each time. Vraks ducked and plunged his blade between armour segments, piercing the captains hearts. Some brothers fell, bringing their numbers to around 18. The Gods of chaos, amused bestowed upon Vraks an extra attack.
Turn five and the brotherhood were set upon by the Guard allies in the apocalypse game. Lasgun fire spanked off armour and ruin as the cultists charged. Many brothers were mown down by a round of shooting followed by overwatch. Still, Vraks and four others made it to their lines.
Covered in gore with sword raised above his head, Vraks bellowed one more challenge. He was met by the Commissar. They were well matched, the commissar saving blows while Vraks was too quick (or the commisar too clumsy) to be struck. Finally though Vraks struck a fatal blow.
The commissar fell and two dice fell alongside him. The first landed on 6, the second bounced off the terrain, and again, hit some rubble and balanced on a corner before finally.... slowly... coming to rest on... a 6.
The dust spiralled upwards around Vraks as he was lifted into the air. With the sound of a thousand orgasming nerds his form exploded and reformed into a mighty Daemon Prince of Tzeentch. The screams of ecstasy interrupted the tournament in Warhammer World.

It was in a 1500 point game, chaos marines versus necrons my twenty cultists some how dodged with out cover 60 gauss flayer shots, 5 tesla carbine shots, 2 gauss cannon shots, 3 staff of light shots, 4 tesla destructor shots, all of which benefited from target priority (re-roll 1s), and managed to be completely fine. Not only that, but the champion managed to kill the opponents overlord in the following assault.

Back in 5th (possibly 4th) edition, I played in the old Hard Boyz tournaments, a GW-sponsored event that had tons of prize support and terrible missions. One of the missions was kill points, but you got something insane like 5 kill points for ever unit that could move over 6". I was playing mechanized Eldar with Wave Serpents, Fire Prisms, and Shining Spears - practically everything in my army was worth the bonus.
Of course I get matched up against a Tyranid army in the round that mission was played, and he had a Nidzilla army with nothing that gave up the bonus kill points. If he killed two (two!) of my units he would win, as that was more kill points than his entire army was worth.
So I had to table the Tyranids to stand a chance. Literally wiping them out to the man was the only way I could win the game, so that's what I did. I played the meanest, nastiest game of my life and just killed nid after nid after nid like I was the goddam pest control. Finally, on the very last turn, I was just barely able to kill the last Tyranid and win the game. I think I gave up something ridiculous like five or ten times as many kill points as I scored, but I won.
Very satisfying.

Probably the other day. I took my usual take all comers Blood Angel list against a local guy's newly painted Tyranid list. Upon seeing that he was fielding a Walking Hive Tyrant, a few units of warriors, a bunch of termagants and hormagaunts, a couple biovores, and a lone close combat carnifex, I knew it was gonna be a bad game for my opponent. It's not like my Blood Angel list is all powerful, but I bring a pretty good amount of vehicles...something that would have given his army fits.
I asked an neutral observer if he thought the amount of armor I was fielding would be an issue, and after careful consideration, he pointed to my Baal Predator and Frag Cannon Furioso in a Drop Pod as the two units I should probably take out to keep things from getting out of hand (I had already pulled my Stormraven once I saw he had no flyer protection) and I agreed with his assessment. Thankfully I had a unit of Terminators and an additional HQ I could throw in to keep the points correct. All things now feeling more equal, the game got underway.
My dice were average all game, while my opponent's were pretty amazing until the very end. I lost on maelstrom pretty convincingly. It's probably my proudest moment...

Imperial Priest with melta bombs and a few Sisters of Battle (no melta bombs) went three rounds in CC with a Knight Atrapos. On round three only the wee Priest was left, made his invuln and took off the final hull point of the Knight, survived the blast (which killed a few nearby Skitarii coming to join the Knight in CC). Best 30 points I ever spent.

One funny moment I remember is when I was playing admech kastelan robots, they were rolling up midfield without a care in the world. My opponent had the SW gunship and njal. I was running the formation where my tech priest had his body guard of kastelans. His njal casted jaws of the world wolf and ate my warlord which made me sad. He then opened fire with the gunship on my kastalens. One melta shot I reflected with a 6. I needed a 4+, got a 5. On the pen table I rolled a 6. In glorious revenge for my techbpriest, the ship went down on my opponents own turn!

Codex Space Marines led by Lysander in strike force ultra versus deathwing.
Close game due to the fact that I cant make 2 up saves to save my life. One squad of my terminators (standard squad with AC) scatter away from the fight and onto the left flank. Next turn a Deathwing squad appears next to them via deepstrike. The Squads exchange fire and one deathwing drops from a rending AC shot.
The Fist terminators run out from their ruins and charge the deathwing. The Sergeants of the squads exchange power sword attacks and reach a stalemate, but the others in the Deathwing squad are entirely overrun by the very angry Imperial Fist termies. The termies make the their 2 5 up invulns and consolidate back towards the back lines to help the damaged venerable dreadnought fight off another deathwing squad, but they arrive too late.
The Venerable falls, but the Fists are swift to avenge him and charge into combat. The 5 man termy squad meets the TH/ SH 4 man squad of deathwing and battle. After the dice are rolled two standard termies drop (The sergeant among them), but all four deathwing lay slain by their hands.
The battle rages on in the right flank and before long all that remains of the Strike Force Ultra are the three remaining termies and a defiant land raider crusader. The termies fire their shots in a 5 man TH/ SH squad led by a librarian, but their shots plink off the armor.
The termies are charged by the deathwing, but amazingly enough only suffer three wounds. They make all three 5 up saves and wipe out the 6 strong squad with their 6 power fist attacks.
I am down by 7 VPs, but all the deathwing player has left on the table is a single drop pod 18 inches away. I cant possibly get close enough to charge so its all down to the 1 assault cannon guy and the one AC left on the horribly damaged land raider crusader.
Its the bottom of turn 7. Do or die. The land raider AC fires and wiffs. Its all down the one assault cannon terminator. He fires his three shots and gets three 2s and one 3. Its not looking good. What does the hit do? He needs a 6 to pen.
I cock back the arm and toss the dice...
6!
What does it do? It needs a 6 to blow it up and win the game due to the open topness of the drop pod.
I get my Imperial Fist yellow dice, kiss it and let fly...

At my old shop I remember a guy deploying his landraider sideways to try and get closer to me. I remember stealing the first go and using a lascannon from a guard veteran team blew it up first move. That team later wiped out a dreadnought and took an objective. The way was so angry, golden.
The other time was playing an elder jet bike list against my guard. My opponent took an elder fighter jet (can't remember which one) and blew up my command chimera. The team survived along with the regimental advisors. My venddta came on and took out the jet. It fell on said jet bikes and forced them to find cover. My command team then ran after and engaged them in close combat and won. TDLR: 4 surcingles jet bikes got chased down and killed by a few balding middle aged men.

Also had a game where my Flesh Hounds tied up a fully powered up Dreadknight for 2 game turns until my Soul Grinder came in and pinched him in half.
Finally, I love my Ork Warboss with mega armor and Da Lukky Stikk. I've had him survive so much shenanigans, even being the last guy to hold the Relic and tie a game for me.

The birth of the heltide, no doubts.
Halfway into construction, my half build first (and only) riptide gets a test drive as a HBC/SMS/ECPA/stims monster against some necron. (played by galorian, he's also on dakka but less active)
Trusting the power of jet pack movement, I get a bit too deep to get a clear fire line on the enemy heavy destroyers and while I cripple them, a failed thrust roll leaves him stranded near a large number of necrons.
Cue enemy turn, some shooting from remaining heavy destroyers and nearby necron warrior take him down to 1 wound. Thinking he can finish it in melee, a grand total of 3 heavy destroyers (unit of 2 and a solo) charge in, with 17 warriors (they were relentless thanks to) with attached overlord and cryptek.
The entire necron force fails to land any damage between armor, invul and fnp. Being completely hopeless, I do a hail merry, and throw a smash on one of the destroyers of the pair.
Despite WS1 he hits. Wounds. Destroyer fails RP and is killed. I win combat by 2.
The three necron units proceed to fail leadership, then all get caught in sweeping advance, instantly killing about 450 points of necrons. Effectively winning the game i thought was lost.
For his efforts he was rewarded with the title of heltide, being dedicated to khorne (paint and symbols), a helbrute's arm (did I mention half built?), and a pile of necron wrecks for his base.
Pictures on my gallery if anyone wants to see the result.

I was playing a 2k game with my Chaos marines against tau spamming riptides (pretty sure he had 4 plus the HQ one from FW or farsight book, unsure), 2 units of pathfinders a unit of firewarriors and one team of crisis suits. Pathfinders and fire warriors are sitting in a fortress of redemption.
I was rocking a defiler, some havocs, some regular marines. And a baneblade because i could lol.
Anyway, turn 2, he drops his melta crisis team right in front of my defiler, misses eith every shot except ONE (he did 2 separate guns instead.of twin linked) rolls boxcars to penetrate armor, roll for result: explode. Panicking, i frantically look through my codex to see if defiler had any kind of save (was just starting chaos out) and rolls a 6 for daemon save. Next turn, charge the suits, kill em all, shrug off.next round of shooting from 3 riptides, run up and kill the nearest one. Next turn battle cannon the fortress, take out the two side buildings and half the dudes inside then charge the thing. Destroy the middle building, get emp'd to death, trap everyone in the building.
Defiler killed like ~700 points by himself. Never been so proud of a single model. Automatically Appended Next Post: In that same game, turn 5, his commander riptide is all that's left. Feeling generous, i tank shock with baneblade. He makes a death or glory, fails morale, gets crunched by baneblade. Simply. Glorious.
