Rare? Hard to say. I don’t think I have any limited edition guys. I do, however, have a reasonable collection of older then dirt stuff. Playing since the RT days does have some perks.

Rarest model I know of, one of the guys at my local store has, won it in a painting contest that the organizer of was giving away as a prize.

It's a rogue demon model, which normally is only awarded to contest winners of GW painting contests, goes for $200+ on eBay.

To many unpainted models to count.

I'm pretty new so none of my stuff is that rare. In fact, the only thing I could even begin to call rare is my squad of AoBR deffkoptas. I mean, they're pretty common and not hard to find, but they're the only models I have that are OoP so... I guess that counts?

I also think my warboss' model is OoP since I can't find the "warboss with attack squig" on the GW site anymore. Granted, I've kitbashed the hell out of him (dropping the attack squig, slapping on a PK, cutting a wreckin' ball in half and mounting it on his shoulders like pauldrons, strapping an engine on his back for no reason, y'know- orky stuff,) so I guess I've violated his rare-ness.

"The undead ogre believes the sack of pies is your parrot, and proceeds to eat them. The pies explode, and so does his head. The way is clear." - Me, DMing what was supposed to be a serious Pathfinder campaign.

I would say Sergeant Centurius ... but he's nowhere near as rare as he should be these days, thanks to recasters. Someone from the studio made a comment years back that there had been more Centurius' sold on ebay than had ever actually been made...

I own two ... one was bought second-hand, and is probably not genuine. The other was NiB, so I'm fairly confident that one is legit

I did have a few of the staff-only models that I had collected off eBay back when I actually had cash for that sort of thing... but they got pawned off some time ago now to make way for more important things.

Edit - and, of course, I was forgetting about my drop pod...

200 of these were made by Matt Weaver for GW Oz (back before he moved over to the UK and Forgeworld) for a roadshow, and they were only available at the event. This was before Drop Pods had actual models, and the Drop Pod Assault rule just allowed Marines to Deep Strike.

Im currently trying to hunt down one of him, i run a legion of the damned army, well salamanders but painted LotD, and i want him as a center piece, for what i can tell he goes for around 70 bucks.

Any ways to give some visual to my earlier post, these are the two rarest models i know of are probably Harry the hammer (25th anniversary for WHFB)

and the rogue demon which iirc can only be obtained from GW painting events given to the winner. Image of him, he goes for 200+ on ebay

I've got a lot of RT era stuff. I don't think much was rare at the time (like limited editions) but have just become rare with age.

I think all this stuff is from 1987 to 1992.

A couple old metal harlequins. A death jester and solitaire sitting on the shelf next to my bitz box still in their respective blisters. I've got the Masters of the Chapter box, but being that I've seen it since converted to finecast, I'd presume it's not that rare. The only other OOP models I have are Moriar the Chosen and Captain Cortez from playing 3rd ed SM/BA.

I started playing in 3rd edition, so I don't have anything quite as rare as RT stuff, but I do own two of the older Inquisitor models they seem to have stopped producing. One of the female ones with the inferno pistol, and the male Inquisitor with the grimoire and bolter. I also have the old school metal Culexus Assassin. Oh, and old school Lelith alongside some of the old DE slave girls.

I miss metal minis...

Though not really rare as they were common back in the very early 90s. The rarest pieces I've got are actually for Epic. I've got one of the rare warlord Mk II volcano cannons as well as the two games day release metal ork stompas from about 89/90.

Nope, simply "Imperial Assassin." He predates the whole concept of temples etc, which were introduced towards the latter part of 2nd.

I've owned Harry the Hammer and the recently OOP Archaon (I want another, and kick myself for getting rid of it). Even had a Chaplain Xavier, bought it online and sold it for a profit.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

He's a little more common than a lot of other RT-era minis, as he was one of the redeemable prizes in GW's Skullz program in the early 2000s. Still a very cool model for its age, though.
