I have an idea for a DKoK Assault Brigade list that includes an Engineer unit with a Hades drill and Karis Venner attached. My only problem is that the IA12 Hades drill rules are out dated. Would it be acceptable/appropriate to use the new and improved Vraks rules? I don't want to be TFG.

I do believe you would use the one from the Vraks book. The one from the IA book is available to an Imperial Guard army, the one from vraks is specifically available to a DKoK list. So you must be fielding a DkoK list to use the vraks version (unless it says otherwise in the unit entry), you can't pick and choose.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Thing is there are two DKoK army lists: Assault Brigade and Siege. The Assault Brigade is from IA12 and the Siege list is from the new Vraks book. My question is whether it is acceptable/appropriate to use the Hades breaching drill rules from the newer Vraks book instead of the older IA12, although my DKoK army is generated from IA12.

Krieg! What a hole...

Nope, you're probably better off with the one in IA12, doubly so if FW is not too common around where you play

I have run into this problem in reguarding the flyers in both of those lists. However, depending on which list you decide to go with, You Use the Rules for that Unit that is in Your List. So if you are playing the Siege list, you would use the rules and point value for that unit from that specific army list, and vice versa.

Thanks fellows. An unfortunate consensus, but not unexpected. I guess I will have to shelve my Assault Brigade Hades drill tactics until a new version of IA12 is released. It is really too bad GW/FW no longer release FAQs, all the reasonable discrepancies between the two DKoK lists could be fixed in 5 minutes.

FW might be slow as balls for doing FAQ's, but you could shoot them an email to see what they say. It wouldn't be official, but using that email would work for a local group at the very least.

I doubt it. I have emailed FW before in regards to the flyer rules issue I was having and to put it bluntly they were no help at all. The excuse they are giving out is that they are not addressing anything right now in regards to the rules and it is complete and utter BS. I'm not complaining about it but at the same time it's kind of annoying that it just shows their laziness and their inability to address something which anyone with common sense can solve in an hour.

They've been promising/saying they are working on a FAQ document for 2 years now...

It looks like there is enough interest in an official FAQ for IA12. I'll start another Topic/Poll in a couple days with a list of corrections/updates needed to bring the DKoK Assault Brigade up to par, with your help. I am not as familiar with what would be needed to FAQ the Necron or Minotaur lists, so hopefully others can chime in. After we have settled on a list of questions/corrections/updates I will draft a cordial email to FW with our demands. Hopefully this will make a dent.

I like the new rules

If you don't know anybody who is secretly Alpharius or Omegon, you probably are him.
