Well, that was unexpected they actually got around to that.

And it has pretty considerable changes, to boot.

Drop pod sales are gonna plummet though, as you can no longer embark in Battle Brother transports at deployment.

Huh. Plasma cannons can't reroll their "Gets Hot!" roll anymore due to PE, etc.

On moon miranda.

A lot of these are great. A lot are total gak though sadly too

That said, gotta at least give them credit for reaching out and actually addressing them.

Looking forward to not seeing Skitarii in Drop Pods again

The biggest one for my sisters was the nerf to grenades in assault, I don't get to smash stuff with 20 krak grenades anymore.

So, no skitarii in drop pods anymore. I'm surprised by the assault grenade ruling.

Annnnd dammit all. I understand there were a ton of people abusing skitarii in drop pods... Hell I did it once in a pick up game and said "nope this is too powerful." This screwed me over because one of my favorite lists I ran was my unbound skitarii in rhinos list. it was fine! It was 10 toughness 3 4+ save models in a friggen AV11 deathtrap. I even took it in unbound lists so it would be fluffy and give my opponent an advantage OBj Secured wise, but now it's gone.

Fan-Fething-Tastic now my army theme has to be something else. May as well play the War Convocation like every other Bastard is doing.

Wow. Have these idiots even read their own rules?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

It would appear some of this stuff is completely against the rules as written.

These are FAQs not changes to the rule book and codexs. Maybe adding a line here and there to clear things up is fine but really some of it is a complete flipflop.

Good on them for trying, I imagine this is why they are asking for feedback.

Big changes. Being forced to allocate wounds to a single model until death from LOS rolls regardless of other models being equal distance is going to mess with a bunch of super friend style lists.

Well, changes bring controversy, but I'm glad that they're at least attempting this.

Now they just need professional rule writers again and we'll be more golden than the emperor's throne.

Q: Do rules applying to ‘the unit’, such as those from Formation command benefits (e.g. the Skyhammer Annihilation Force), or unit-wide special rules such as Dunestrider from Codex: Skitarii apply to any attached Independent Characters?
A: No.

Boom that kills a lot of things

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Q: Using grenades in the Assault phase. Can every model replace their close combat attacks with a single grenade attack or just one model in the unit? Like in the Shooting phase e.g. a unit of 5 Tau Pathfinders charge a Knight. Do 5 Pathfinders make close combat haywire grenade attacks?
A: Only one model from the unit can attack with a grenade in the Assault phase. Per Warhammer 40,000: The Rules, ‘Only one grenade (of any type) can be thrown by a unit per phase’.

Ugh lets hope that this is not in the final form or my tank busta's and inquisitors are completely useless : (

I really don't get why these are ruled this way ( pure from a rule perspective not from balance etc)

Q: Can units that are Battle Brothers embark in each other’s Transport vehicles during deployment?
A: No.

Q: Can I have an Unbound army comprising nothing but buildings?
A: No.

Yea but you have transports you can take within a regular CAD without ally shenanigans. Skitarii have nothing transportwise.

And it just cheeses me off now more than ever that Space Marines can get free transports with no problem.

"Oh, Hey Iron Hands! here, have some rhinos and drop pods for free because there is 100 of you guys. Oh, hey Imperial Guard! I'm glad your enjoying the Chimeras and Taurax's we made you. Now don't go sticking your hand into the fuel tank again! No, that part is the multilaser turret. No, that's not an acess point, that's the hood to the engine.

You guys go on ahead in the tanks we made for you. We'll walk."

I was pleasantly surprised that they posted this and it looks like they are looking for feedback, the allied embarking on transports is sad though as stated some armies lack their own or lack assault or open topped transports. I like allying my DE and Eldar for this reason, banshees will be unusable... again

There's nothing stopping you from embarking. You just can't deploy in it.

Also, no more d-scythes WWP raiders. Justice.

Why even have grenades if you can't use them......

I have yet to meet a player that actually throws their grenades in the shooting phase. It is too much of a pain in the ass to go through all of the motions for one grenade. No one is going to use grenades at all now.

Brotherhood of psykers not clarified, if a GK Libbey casts Might of Heroes on himself does a Brotherhood of Psyker squad also get it? I can tell they are leaning that way but they should still be more clear.

This is why I hate the 100% blind hate for eldar. That was NEVER LEGAL. Guard are bulky, min squad of 5, meaning 10 models right there, to get a WWP you need an IC so that puts unit count to 11, which the raider only has 10 model count.

You think that's big, this one's huuuuuuuuuuge.

Q: Do Flyers, Super-heavy vehicles, Swooping Flying Monstrous Creatures and Gargantuan Creatures gain cover while standing on the ‘base’ of a terrain piece, e.g. ruins or dense thickets, or do they need to be at least 25% obscured by the scenery for cover to apply?
A: The 25% rule applies in all types of terrain if the target is a Flyer, Super-heavy Vehicle, Flying Monstrous Creature or Gargantuan Creature. All other targets count as being in cover if they are in or on the terrain’s base, even if not 25% obsured.
