Huh, was really betting the auxiliary chamber would have been the Stormcasts(?) used to aid the mortals. This is pretty cool, though. So after this release we're still waiting for the two last chambers to be revealed, correct?

Anyway, really loving the looks of these guys. The knight plumes are a nice touch and a release with helmetless knights can finally put those "aren't they hollow inside?" questions to rest.

I kinda like the crossbow pistols because I feel when the Steamhead and Ironweld are fleshed out the Stormcasts are going to be the main "medieval" look where as the tech factions will be using actual repeater pistols along with a cadre of steampunk weapons.(I'll probably take the magazine off though)

Really excited about the Gryph-hounds and the future Gryph-chargers.

"They bring with them loyal beasts of the Celestial Realm, some familiar, like the Gryph-hound, and some we have never seen before, like the Aetherwing and the formidable Gryph-chargers (more on those very soon)."

For me and my friends who are Stormcast and Bretonnian players that's a win-win.

That was actually a "glitch", so to speak. The current curseling will be released alongside all the daemon-related stuff.

In regards to the hand-crossbow functionality discussion; don't take the design too seriously. Literally every weapon Stormcasts use is magical, units like Prosecutors conjure fresh ammo out of thin air every time they shoot, while boltstorm crossbows generate ammunition similarly. Even the archers with quivers have fluff stating the after firing the arrows magically reform back in the quiver.

If by super lame you mean cheap, yes. Seriously, Sigmar is such a cheapskate he can't even get his troops degradable munitions like any proper dictator would?

Agreed on the helmless guys. This is two now, with that WHW exclusive guy a few months back. A nice trend. I still, for some reason I'm grateful for, have yet to play more than 2 games vs. Stormcasts. I wonder if I'll see more now. I wouldn't mind having these scamps across the table from my Fyreslayers actually, even if just to see what they do and enjoy the models painted).

The stormcast book is the first battletome to replace an old one. It kind of sucks for early adopters but combining three books into one is good for the game going forward. Aos has gone through a lot of growing pains early on, but they seem to be headed in a pretty good direction now.

Which makes me angry, since I can see them just going: hey let's make this crossbow this way, it will look cool!!1one!! Instead of looking at practicalities. Those crossbows literally can't fire at all, because the magazine blocks off the axis.

Well, we can't know until their artwork is shown to know where the strings are but maybe the crossbows have two strings going vertically on both sides of the barrel?

What book is legal, what book is not legal, what is the most updated book, what books I can't use now.

Doesn't the app and downloadable general's handbook make that less of an issue?

They needed an updated book anyway since the Sylvaneth book added in new game elements like the relics.

I too hope they aren't, but look at it this way: SE battle tome was divided in two, both books were at old prices (IE: 40 euros, 60-80 canadian dollars each, mayhaps?). New tome will combine BOTH, plus a new one. New tome will give plenty of new stuff for those players. And most likely will be around 20 euros, meaning less than a single of thos books. Sucks for the early adopters but I think it will benefit the newer players, and said early adopters too (since they get more stuff at a quarter of what they've paid already, and they only need to carry a single book).

I can agree (still dont' feel so, and I'm an ironjaw player) some people, but I think this is a decent move for the stormcasts' benefit.

That gave me a strong flashback of the King Edward from the Braveheart movie and him sending in troops to die instead of wasting valuable arrows.

Wonder what he would do with a army that could "reforge" it's casualties? Meh, probably end up a servant of Nagash not after so long.

They're a ranger version(lighter armor, good firepower, warbeast support, better mobility) of the Stormcasts to act as a quick response unit to trouble in populated areas.

Seeing as the Liberator is the statue in front of GW and the main posterboy of AoS, I'd say definitely not. The vanguard are just the Stormcast version of the Empire's outriders.

The Liberators and Judicators(the main infantry) are most likely just getting price changes.

What puzzles me is the description of their being "rangers, trackers and cavalrymen without compare." If they are cavalrymen, does that mean they will come as two separate kits, one mounted, one not? If they are cavalrymen, why have a dismounted version?

Because two of the three listed (rangers and trackers) don't necessarily mean that they're mounted.

I'm on the page that more factions need books in the first place. It really does feel like GW is treating Stormcast as Spess Mahreenz. Other factions might get the occasional awesome release (see Disciples of Tzeentch), but no one is going to get more models or books or love than the Sigmarines.

I love the hounds, and dislike basically everything about the Sigmarines. The sideways crossbows (don't worry they are MAGIC!!!) are particularly egregious. None of the disparate design elements with together. Scouts in full plate armor?(Don't worry, it is MAGIC!!! armor) Fur under your pauldrons? (Don't worry, they are MAGIC!!! pauldrons) Having to reload your magic pistol? (The magazine carries the MAGIC!!!). Scouts keep getting lost? How about a MAGIC!!! map they can consult? Every single one of them is in a bandy legged sumo stance. It is like being subjected to Space Marine stances all over again. GAH! To each their own, but I'll keep passing on the Sigmarines.

Man, I've gotta say: I love this models.

I've always loved the SE, I do recognize they are the direct counterpart to the Space Marines, but I don't give a damn, for me they look far more akin to Greek-Roman legionaries. Still, although those crossbow-guns look weird, they look much better than the first ones, imo.

I just feel them much more realistic (as it gets) and and overall great-looking.

And man, I just love that Gryph-hounds pack, they look awesome, like any GW Gryph.

But what I'm hyped for are the Gryph-chargers. I bet they are Stormcasts-scaled Demi-gryphs. Those guys are gonna be HUGE.

With the new SE Battletome, I'm gonna expect more updated ones for the factions already released, I'd like the next to be a new Seraphon one, and I can easily see they making the same for the other Chaos gods, as well as a new Battletome for Aelvish, Duradin, and Human armies. They might as well launch one with the smaller Death armies.

Also, I'm surprised no one has pointed out that yet, but there is a P.S. at the end of the article:

Warhammer Community wrote:We have another reveal from next month’s releases tomorrow. Check back then to find out what

And this alongside the new Battletome really excites me; there are chances to see new miniatures for several armies each in a while.

Truthfully, it seems less like "Stormcast 2.0" and more like 3rd edition 40k, where you got tiny little "update books" for SM. Just if those books also included the stuff you needed too.

But this is not an "update book", they said this is a reworked SE Battletome, to match the DoT format.
