Good to see these around again, I may not play the game (but at £10 the rulebook may tempt me just to read), but the minis have some real gems
The Troll Trader
..
While we redevelop Carnevale with lots of new miniatures and updated rules we are making the current range of models available as Carnevale Classics. With our scales of production we have been able to greatly reduce the prices of the miniatures. We hope to launch a new rulebook in April next year and in the mean time the current one drops from £30 to £10! More models from the current range will be added over the coming weeks as we sort the stock. http://ttcombat.com/collections/carnevale
Vesper games sold the game? I thought they had a successful Kickstarter? Was a couple of years ago sure, but still... Always loved the minis so it's good they'll still be around,
Automatically Appended Next Post: Looking into it, seems Vesper-on has shut down and Troll Trader bought their IP. Well I'm glad they live on!

they say prices are going to be cheaper going forward as they've got greater economy of scale so I'd guess they may well be permanent
(except for the rule book which is on offer until they get their own version out.... not sure if it will have any changes or revisions, that's meant to be around april next year)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also useful to note the (UK) shipping on these is free at the moment (not sure about outside of the UK)

Well I was tempted, so I picked up the rule book (smooth fast delivery as always from The Troll Trader)
probably not to play, but there's enough world building and neat bits to make it worth having, and who knows I might be tempted to give it a whirl
and I grabbed a few masked minis that will be usefull to have for other games and RPG
this lot all looks to be old vesper-on stock and some of the minis are already sold out, I hope Troll Trader will get some more of these cast up (I don't mind if they end up in plain baggies rather than boxes with colour art on) as I want some of the missing including
Automatically Appended Next Post: ah great they will be casting more, they say on facebook
Will items that currently show "Sold Out" come back into stock soon?
TTCombat They will smile emoticon We are updating stock daily as we unpack the packages we got from Vesper On and then we will begin casting from the moulds asap.

Can anyone comment on the quality of these minis? I'm looking at picking up a couple as they're some lovely sculpts and at great prices, but some reviews I've looked up reckon they're a bit flimsy. Is that the case?
Seems I'm easily convinced! Just grabbed that one and the Noble. I'll probably get the Black Spectre too if that comes back in stock, as that's a rather superb concept and model!

They're good quality casts (although theres some easy to remove flashing on one or two), but they are not as 'heroic' as GW and at least some are multipart have small pieces,
but nothing a moderately experience hobbyist cant cope with
I'll see about doing some photos this evening of some of what I've got at home
Love this game. Great to see it getting some love again.

I picked up a couple and they arrived swiftly and very well packaged earlier this week. I'm not super impressed by the casting though, the detail looks a little weak to me, but maybe they'll be alright when primed. Anyone else received minis, and what do you think?
I was very pleased with mine, the details were no softer than something like the Infinity or Batman models I've dealt with in the past. True-scale models are always going to have shallower details than their heroic-scale counterparts, but everything on these was sharp enough that they were really fun to paint.
Carnevale Miniatures Game·Friday, 25 November 2016
.
We are looking to the future with Carnevale needing to decide on how it moves on and develops. We have created a few concepts for how the world will develop and what this means for the games advancement. We would like your feedback and ideas so we can create a world people will enjoy and support.
1. Existing World - We jump ahead a couple of years continue the current timeline of Venice’s advancement as a world power. Development takes place within the city and progresses the timeline with additional forces such as Vatican and Strigoi growing in number. Expansions to other areas would be done through Expeditions and the portal/tunnel system, some areas that are canal cities or wilderness based can continue the game mechanic and fit with water deployment across a board. Other locations can have sewer systems for movement.
2. The Cataclysm and Dimension - A great cataclysm takes place in which Venice is taken to a otherworldly realm, after the initial chaos of the move it becomes apparent other landmasses hand areas have also arrived. The principle that a unfathomable being has selected areas using idols similar to what seeped into Venice and is bringing different areas together to create a new world. Expansions into other areas a more seamless with closer proximity to Venice and the ability to fracture the areas during the trip to the new realm to allow for game mechanics of waterways cross over to new locations. New areas would appear over time and the world area would grow allowing for multiple new factions and story lines to emerge.
3. Fresh Start - A entirely new world, based on ours and bringing across the events and factions in the original with a new setting. A collection of archipelagos and landmasses in a contained area of a new world with an emphasis on water based travel and canal city styles, Capitol of Venetia would be the centre of the area, a collection of other cities and locations based on areas in our world with areas of defined styles.
4. Suggestions - If you have any suggestions as to how it can develop please feel free to message us with your ideas.
and some concept art for their re-imagining of some of the minis
That's some cool concept art for the new Barnaboti (I'm guessing). Shame there's still no word on the existing stuff getting restocked, I'm waiting on a few starter sets as I was dead impressed with the couple of minis I did get, but at £20 for 5 minis the starters are much better value.

I'd like to see them spin up some more of that stuff too as I was under the impression that that was the plan
(or if they've decided to leave it until the new stuff is ready let us know they won't be doing the restocking)
Does anyone have information on a new rulebook, or additional material? I have the old book, and was wondering about the "New owners and their continuing of the evolution.
Additionally, I would like to put together a 4X4 board of Styrosheet on plywood. Anyone have any good inspiration for me to put to the board, or a good place to go for additional scenery?

now they own the IP Troll Trader is planning on releasing a version 2 which was supposed to be for april 2017 but if they're asking questions like the one above I wonder if that isn't going to slip a fair amount
they've started releasing buildings, bridges and stuff for it here (you'll have to dig for them as they're not listed by system)
I wonder if that's simply because they want to keep their own terrain stuff and mini lines (under TTCombat) separate from the stuff they're simply distributing (as Troll Trader), hence the two different sites.
On a Carnevale note, lots of stuff seems to be back in stock at the moment, all the starter sets specifically. Got myself a Strigoi one, I shall grab a Vatican set if they still have any next time I have the money spare.
