This is my first DE list, meant to be semi-competitive. I built it based off advice from a post I made in 40k General Discussion a few weeks ago. I do not own the Haemonculus Coven supplement so if I've done something that breaks the rules PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Like I said I dont actually own the covens supplament so I dont know how the formation is integrated into the list. I would like to be running the Realspace Raiders Detatchment. I'm also not sure about the archon and grotesques, I thought i needed some kind of CC and I've been warned against taking Incubi. If you think itd be better to drop the archon for a lhamaean and take some more troops then let me know, im all ears.

I like a Succubus with a glaive to roll with my Grotesques. Gives you some low AP hitting power. If you can get another unit of grotesques and a Haemonculus you could also run the Grotesqurie, which I think is a fun formation that gives your grotesques some extra bonuses.

For you 1st list, this is fine, you want to play with this list at list 5-6x before making any changes just so you can at least learn each unit and roles really well.

In the future I would try some Reavers and maybe even CTC over Dark Artisan formation.

Honestly CTC formation has won me the game many times and compare to DA formation it is more survivable, more killy and has many more options as to what it can or cant handle (Basically anything but a Knight/D weapons).

It does however cost dbl the points.

With a Vehicle Spam list, it is VERY important to make sure the opponent CAN NOT force you to jink with many vehicles at once.

If you can safely get your Gunboats (10man Warrior in Raiders + SR) into rapid firing range, you will but the hurt on.

This is partially true. Formations are detachments in their own right and would not "fill slots" in any other Detachment. All units, however, WILL have a "Battlefield Role"
For example, if playing "Big guns never tire", the Dark Artisan would count as a Heavy Support for the purposes of gaining Victory points, even though it does not fill a Heavy support slot in the CAD.
I am not sure if it would count as 2 VPs since it is 2 Heavies, or just 1 since it counts as 1 unit.

To the OP, you need to pick up the Coven book. There are some important rules you will need to refer to when fielding the DA. For one, you want the Haemi of a DA to be your Warlord. He gets a bonus for doing so and it's a very important bonus for the unit.
You also need the Spirit probe on the Cronos. +1 FNP is very necessary.
