Are those Warmahorde bases? Seeing it side by side with a GW base, they look so much nicer.

I'm bummed that the techpriest is already unavailable in the US. I like that model, and I wanted one more.

Huh, I was actually thinking that I thought GW had made two techpriests.

I went back, and guess which one I have? The round ax...

Yeah, there *are* two Techpriests, and it wasn't that long ago that GW had both available on regular order. I don't know when the square axe was removed in favor of the round axe, though. I do know that both versions were available when GW released the IG formations, because I looked at that time and wasn't concerned over buying then.

I can't think of a time I've actually fielded my one techpriest. Probably in an Apoc game. They were cool models when they came out, and I think still a perfectly fine.

I intend to reorganize my IG as Formations, so I need one for the Tanks and another for the Artillery, as there's a fair chance I'd field them both.

I consider buying one, they are very nice models.

Then I realized I have 2 or 3 RT tech priests and a 3rd edition one who's been sitting unpainted since 2003.

And of course 2nd ed Fexes. But I feel their moulds would be loooong gone :(

There is a lot that I would love to see. Some of the older plastic Space Marine stuff and all of the Catachan stuff made available. Sadly, I don't think this will happen. I'm not trying to be a debbie-downer, but I am fairly positive that GW found a large cache of these miniatures laying in the back corner of one of their warehouses and with put a marketing spin on it that these are made-to-order. It wouldn't do to make it look like you just lost a shed load of miniatures and just now found them. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, of course.

I don't get why people find it so hard to believe that they just spend a few hours playing with a spin caster to make more models. That used to be the way all the minis were made. It's not difficult. Spin Casting metal is just not as cost effective as plastic for mass production. Taking some old molds out of storage and using them for a small run is easy.

Because of opportunity cost. There are probably much better things they could be using that production time for, that's why I don't think they are actually being produced.

For how limited the range was, and how long it's taking to fulfill (2 weeks now), "M2O" likely really is M2O.

As a limited deal, the opportunity cost is pretty limited - it's one guy running a machine that would otherwise sit idle. It's not like they're losing pops on any of their plastic production equipment by firing up the spin caster for another go...

You may very well be right. I'm actually surprised they still have the spin caster, as one would think they would try and liquidate it to free of assets on the financials.

Who would buy it?

As long as they hold it, it's a revenue-producing asset with some book value.

You do realize they still have metal models available in the online store?
