The limited edition resin diorama is now up for pre-order -

Negan comes with a removable base so that he can be used in the game however doesn't come with a character card. The set does come with new cards for Rick and Carl though. Shame that Heath is missing from the scene but they have left space for him so he may be released in the future (they say they didn't want his first model to be on his knees and not usable in the game).

There is also an equipment card deck (mix of old, future and exclusive cards) and two plastic token / measuring stick sets.

This years convention exclusives will be Clem, Lee and a Walker from the game (the one eating a deer) -

The set will launch at Adepticon in March, while the UK launch will follow in April at Salute, it will then be available at a variety of cons globally. For those unable to make it to shows it will also be available in the Mantic online store during Mantic open day weekends (next one is in May).

To clarify the above, it says Negan DOES come with his character card.

Quick opinion please.

I had been painting Walkers in monochrome to match the look of the comics (and as a completely new painter I thought it would be easier). As I have also picked up quite a chunk of Batman models I have been considering making a joint Walking Dead & Batman board but the trouble with that is the monochrome figures would look very out of place with full colour buildings. So, I have started to paint up some Walkers in colour as a test. These are the first colour miniatures I have painted and whilst I made some silly mistakes I am generally happy with the results. However, I wanted a second opinion on whether I should stick with the monochrome or switch across to colour?

I have 21 monochrome models painted up so far along with a chunk of the tokens, scenery and vehicles but I don't mind stripping and repainting if colour wins.

Thanks

I much prefer the color (though I do like the monochrome, I've seen a bunch of folks do it, and it's quite cool too!)

But it's easy to quickly flip over: pick out one or two clothing items on the zombie to paint in color. Wash the gray flesh in Seraphim Sepia or some other flesh tone wash (i.e., light or medium brown; dark brown would work too). I've painted a lot of zombies recently (Zombicide black plague) quickly this way: gray base/primer, 1-3 colors on clothes, brown wash. Blood if you want it. They look great as a horde!

Good luck!

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

and how has everyone found the game so far? I've not got a game in yet but am quite eager to try it out as it is appealing a lot.
Played it several times now, with the Prelude to Woodbury and Days Gone Bye expansions. It is excellent for player versus player. It loses a lot as a cooperative game because (1) other survivors create much more anxiety than zombies and (2) the zombies are much less of a threat. Unfortunately, there is only a single PvP scenario in Days Gone Bye - and even then it is just Rick versus Shane. Has Mantic published some other PvP scenarios? Is that in the works? I sure hope so.

I vote for monochrome. I really hate "fully painted" zombies in this scale. Zombies are environmental hazards, not characters. For this reason, I don't think monochromatic zombies will look bad next to polychromatic Batman. (If anything, the scale difference will be the issue.) I plan to paint my zombies (my Project Z zeds; I don't plan on painting the Mantic ones at all) green with pinkish-orange overspray.

They added the card as a lot of people were questioning why it didn't come with a card.

The official Mantic site has added details of Wave 2 including retail exclusives and organised play to the website. They are also a few wave 3 retail exclusive reveals in the summer organised play section.

Definitely agree the black and white zombies are fine - and will free up time to paint other stuff!

Has anyone got hold of the expansion pack missions yet, do they add much more playing time to the core game?
