So, in impatience with the kickstarter shipping, I bought some of my own shipping for Dropfleet Commander, and I figure I'll do some of them for this. Kilometer long ships probably qualify!

@DAJimmyK: I look forward to seeing those Deathwing Knights. I did some of those as my first ever entry into one of these painting challenges (way back in April 2015). They really are awesome models!

They are pretty awesome! I just hope I can do them justice. It'll be my 3rd DW squad and I learned a lot about blending on the first 2. Hopefully that'll show up on these. Also faces...:(

made a start on the stompa today, I decided to ditch the old scheme I'd stared, it just seemed a bit busy, and I wasn't really feelin' it...and I kinda waned to go at it from a fresh start for the challenge

I'll either be entering some Dorf Warriors (or Hammerers ) or some lovely MK III armour. Pics later tonight

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I'll be entering either 1 to 3 drop pods (all in the same scheme) to give me inspiration to get them done for an up and coming tournament at the end of the month.

1 of them has been partially built, base coated and had the interior started. The 2nd has been partially built and primed grey. The 3rd is still warm and cosy in his cellophane sealed box.

He finally showed up in the mail, so I am going to enter the Blood Angels Captain in Terminator Armor, also known as Captain Karlaen:

Oh joy, another flesh head... well, I may as well get some practice at it. The corsairs I intend to do one day are going to be predominantly flesh heads...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, in case anyone is interested, I fixed the pics for last month's entry.

Spoiler:

Definately needed a red background or something now that I really look at them.

C&C? Quit your dayjob and start selling these because DAMN.

That looks mean

Maybe some dirt on the wheels would be my only suggestion, I guess. Awesome work so far, though.

also, that part-holder gizmo, that both seems really useful, but also kinda stresses me out to look at it...so many bits all hovering around like that

Thank you man. The weathering will follow as soon as its paintjob is done - mud on wheels?! Sir, yes, sir!
Selling those wouldn´t let me pay my bills I think - so I ll unfortunitely have to keep my job

What? You've started putting paint down on day 4 and you're 'behind'. I've positively gone backwards. I have less paint now then I started with!

Here he is all stripped down (I guess these should be my proof pics, rather than my earlier ones with paint!). Plenty of repair work needed before I start painting it up again. I don't know what 12 year old me was thinking, but I do vaguely remember going at the front of that right track with a hammer. I wanted battle damage

I think I'll keep the hole in the door (why did I have matches at 12? I don't know, but it melted that plastic like a meltagun through plasteel - just what I needed!), but need to fix up the track and make it look like it'll at least move!

Maybe behind in getting started in the month, saying I waited a week to actually properly basecoat.

Finished up base coating the main land raider body. It is a crusader pattern. I had to prime the weapons and a few pieces, so just tad bit of black and I can move on to the fun parts... Airbrushing is amazing.

Almost forgot to upload a proof pic

I was inspired by Zobos entry the other month so thought I would go with a Heavy metal Ork guitarist. Looks like BC had a similar interpretation of the theme, Sorry BC didn't want to copy you but now I've started I'll try to finish, we can have a rock off

I wanted something fairly simple so I could do a bit of prep for Xmas entry

nice MG...looking forward to seeing how he turns out!

...I just had to get myself those classic rockers, I'd had my eye on them for a good couple of years...that said, I do still want to have a go at converting some more "current-looking" versions someday, so I might wind up taking some inspiration from how yours turns out

Quick WIP shot of my Centurions:

Blood Ravens is not too difficult of a color scheme to paint. The hardest part was figuring out what red to use for the armor. I settled on Mephiston Red, as I figured Khorne Red would be too dark, while Evil Sunz Scarlet would be too bright.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I'm in! Seems only fitting, since the theme this month was my suggestion. When preparing my proof pic, I realized I haven't done one of these competitions since July (not sure exactly where those three months went ).
I haven't painted a metal model in 20 years, and I'm super excited to be doing this one.
