Introduced to 40k by Dawn of War, so Blood Ravens are definitely up there. I always liked the Lamenters though, and the silver skulls for potential IW connections.

Celestial Lions, Mantis Legion, Brazen Claws, Purple Stars, Vorpal Swords and the Harbingers are some of my favourites.
I find a lot of the later founded chapters more interesting than the Legions as we don't know amazing amounts about them. Some of the names are so cool too!

They are pretty cool, the whole Rynns World incident and possible assassin involvement adds an interesting element to it. So does them being sent to take out the Sons of Gideon and Marines Vigilant. They are a pretty unique Chapter.

Lexicanum is a great source and it gives references as to where the information was pulled from so if you do find a Chapter you like you can then go on to find the book.

I'd say Red Talons, although nothing is really known about them aside from the fact that they were considered ruthless outcasts of the Iron Hands, and instead of booting out dissenters of that Mechanicum Schism thing they just executed their own Astartes because they were weak.
I was never a fan of the IH motto, the flesh is weak! (Ew, creepy clive barker images) so i tried to find a successor with a little less focus on flesh and more on exterminating weakness. Automatically Appended Next Post: While on the subject I primarily play the Rampagers, White Scars successors for their color scheme (red, just like the Red Talons).
But their backstory never fit right with me. Their only mention is that they overtook a rebel planet in one day, and now they recruit from that world. Now why would they recruit from a world that fell in one day? I mean... huh?
Further research, they are mentioned in the (Death watch?) RPG as having their faces so heavily scarred, that they cause Fear when unhelmeted. Kinda cool i suppose. And definitely a great name. We RAMPAGE!

There's a handful that I find really interesting.
The Exorcists, particularly regarding their sub-cult organization based around the Orisons and their representation of the more radical side of the Inquisition compared to the puritan approach of the Grey Knights.
The Steel Confessors, as they're a chapter that was specifically not made by the HLoT and has to renew their vows of loyalty once word of their creation got out. It makes me think about the possibility of chapters that were founded by the Ur-Council of Nova Terra and how they would have had to be dealt with after the fall of Nova Terra.
The entire Pentarchy of Blood. Seriously, these were some of the most brutal chapters of the early Imperium, brought together to purge nearly a dozen space marine chapters! That's pretty damn awesome.
Edit: I got one more.
The Angels Penitent, who have gotten themselves in some real hot water trying to rid themselves of the Red Thirst. I really hope Peter Fehervari gets a chance to write more about them.

Fire Hawks. Ultramarines successor chapter from the 21st (Cursed) Founding. Lost their homeworld(s), twice. Nearly destroyed in the Badab War (loyalists). Entire chapter presumed lost in the Warp in the 41st Millennium. As many as two hundred members of the Chapter may have survived and renamed themselves the Legion of the Damned.

Lamenters and Mantis Warriors are suitably grimdark, Black Templars are cool too, but my vote right now goes to the Flesh Tearers. Evidently I like my chapters severely flawed and undergoing severe consequences for it.
