That Fall of Cadia book (not sure if its a campaign book or a novel) has a Jan 7 preorder Jan 14 release which means its coming really soon. A new plastic Failbaddon should be popping up soon.

He ain't Failbaddon anymore if Cadia actually falls!

Of course I suppose the title might just mean Autumn on Cadia, 150 pages of Imperial characters admiring the red and gold leaves, drinking pumpkin spice lattes and going antiquing.

There were rumors of a sisters vs dark eldar starter set. How much you want to bet they mistook this boardgame? I bet it will be DE vs Sisters.

I think the Sisters boxed thing might be Sisters & Black Templars vs Cadian Gate (Chaos), some sort of campaign at the very least judging from the warhammer TV clip.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If it was Sisters vs DE what kits would the DE get? What are the missing? Grotesques, Beastmasters + beasts and Incubi are all I can think of atm.

A previous rumor. That same rumor says their troops will be getting updated and there may be more kits. I would hope we see Vect on some sort of pimp mobile which would be super cool and give the DE something big/lord of warish. However the rumor only specifies the DE troops update and Sythrac. Another rumor that is separate from that says there was a sisters vs DE starter set which I think is this boardgame. Finally another rumor says that there are three codices left to do before 8th. Sisters is likely one of them, DE/CE are likely going to be in a campaign set. So who would the other two codexes be? They have been saving full codexes for completely new armies.
"Archon Volossian Sythrac prized possessions are his collection of soul traps - vile devices that act much like the spirit stones of the Craftworld Eldar, though in a far more hideous and predatory way. The act of parting a soul from its mortal body is child’s play to Sythrac. A single scratch from his ancient huskblade will turn his victims to dust in seconds. The disembodied soul, torn so quickly from its physical vessel, is then easy prey for the spirit vortex of Sythrac’s rapacious soul trap. Once a soul is claimed within for all eternity, its captive energies harnessed to energise Volossian Sythrac’s ancient body."

I have hope for Kroot Mercs/Demiurg being one. Please GW hit it out of the park.

People aid the same thing about the Tau Firewarriors and then boom Breachers. Exact same wording. it could very well just be a rebox with sprue options.

The difference is that the DE troops are only 5-6 years old, while Fire warriors were like 10+ years old.

I seriously doubt DE would get a Troop update sooner than every other faction has other than Loyalist Marines, especially given their "have not" status.

People have told me a lot of impossible stuff over the years kiddo, and I've seen a lot happen that shouldn't happen. I think with the plot advancement of Eldrad screwing the Eldar they will give them some new options to tie into the end times advancement.

A lot of people also said that the old Fire Warriors where incredibly dated when compared to the much higher quality sculpt Pathfinders. It wasn't farfetched that they would update the 10+ year old sculpt for the base troop of a fairly popular faction.

Then you should know they didn't update default Firwarriors at all other than refreshing the mold. Only added bits for Breachers. The Striker team looks identical to the old firewarriors other than being a little more crisp. So clearly you didn't do your homework. Firewarriors always looked great and still do considering they are basically the same model. People were upset they were giving them the sad frowny Breacher faces and taking away the old design, but that didn't happen because it looks really really good.

Edit
Further evidence. The Tau Commander model was a fairly new model and got reboxed with new kit options for a Coldstar Commander. It was like 4-5 years old only if I recall correctly. People said that was unlikely. For feth's sakes the PLASTIC sisters of battle are here and you can't believe the Dark Eldar are going to get a troop update/rebox? That is astounding sir.

But like you say, the new ones are much more crisp. The Kabalites and Whyches are crisp enough already, and easily stand up with the newer troop kits. The Fire Warriors didn't look dated in the design, but the actual quality of the models. They didn't just refresh the moulding either, the whole kit was recut, it's got different leg poses etc so it was resculpted, they just kept the design.

Gamgee, this meshed-together rumor from October(?) on Faeit you are refering to lately, has already several errors, and it is really hard to believe as it comes with a lot of nonsense too.

Several parts have been known for months (Sad Panda and Atia).

Also it mentions Thousand Sons and a Keeper of Secrets in an army boxed set. That's nonsense isnt it? Tz and Slaanesh mixed?

Meshing rumor stuff from different sources and offering it as new like what that rumor source on Faeit did lead to many disappointments in the past. With its current flaws it is already not of AAA quality. Pretre has tracked these rumors and we will see what will actually turn out to be true in the end.

Wow

I'm looking at it from a business perspective. The fall of Cadia finally means we can see some other regiments in plastic. After all we have what ...1-2 runs of Cadians in pewter metal, 1-2 runs of Cadians in plastic and more Cadians via Forgeworld? Anyone who plays IG and was interested in the Cadian aesthetic have made their investment. It makes sense for GW to move on. Obviously Cadians aren't going anywhere. There will still be billions of them in the universe after the fall of Cadia and who knows, maybe they will make a counter attack to regain Cadia.

Lorewise, this was expected. Cadians have been sending troops to fight in nearly every conflict in the galaxy. Is it any surprise that their home planet half occupied by Chaos finally fell? This is not to be confused with other regiments adorned in cadian equipment elsewhere in the universe. If you look at the troop allocations in some of the biggest conflicts in the universe you will find Cadians, yes Cadians from Cadia present fighting all over the universe.

I have both the old and new fire warrior sculpts and the issue with the old kit was the lack of detail on the molds due to being some of the older plastic kits. The new kits have a lot more defined detail which surpasses the quality of the pathfinders which is exactly what they needed. Fire Warrior design was never the issue for needing a new kit. Bringing it back to Dark Eldar I personally don't think DE plastic are very dated as they have a lot of quality and hold up when compared to the more recent releases.

I dont believe in new plastic regiments because of a Fall of Cadia campaign book. There are several factions without a home in this game. Eldar, Tyranids, Space Marine chapters like Dark Angels, and many more.

The commander wasn't reboxed, it was resin before, resculpted into a plastic kit with the same design but bigger and with more options, like the Coldstar kit. It was resin originally like I said, which they're phasing out, so it wasn't a surprise that it got redone really.

You know what Gangs of Commoragh could have? Captain Cortez of the Crimson Fists! He was the Space Marine Captain that was in the fighting pits. Sounds like a perfect way to bring Ol' Crazy Cortez back to the game. Hell, give my a Crimson Fists Detachment while we're at it!

The Sisters look good other than I don't like them being supported on scrolls.

But still I'm not holding my breath until I see matching foot sloggers to know this isn't just a Celestine + 2 bodyguards in a dataslate (or whatever the hell the kids are calling them) vs a proper Sisters codex and full range of plastics.

Celestine was the only thing that was moved to "last chance to buy", all the other stuff is listed as regular (though web only) sales, so at this point I'm not surprised, I will be when they replace the other stuff that hasn't been listed as "last chance".

Ah. Still it offers a potential explanation and the DE person teased with the robes and gems fits the description of Sythrac quite well. Which lends more credence to that part of the rumor being at least a little right.

Edit
A recent sisters rumor said 4 kits. No idea how reliable that is. If that is true some might make two options? Hard to say. Assuming it happens.
