I've got a kill team league coming up at the start of February, and wanted some input as to what you guys think would be the best army to choose. For reference, kill team is 200 points where everything counts as a single model. I really don't know what anyone else is bringing, how competitive this will all be, but I think either way I'm going to go for a more fun list while sticking to moderately competitive. I'm considering:

Ravenwing
-black knight command squad w/champion
-tac squad with flamer OR camo snipers

Deathwatch
-5 veterans w/ frag, infernus, 2x stalker, and shotgun
-rhino to sit the frag and infernus inside with shotgun walking behind

Harlies
-5x troupe w/kisses, master w/ rose
-riding starweaver

Orcs
-10 boyz w/ rokkit and shootas in trukk w/ rokkit
-10 boyz w/ rokkit in trukk w/ rokkit

Guard
-vets in chimera w/ carapace, lascannon, heavy flamer, 2x plasma

OR

-7x rough riders w/ 2x flamer
-7x rough riders w/ 2x plasma

I am, however, open to anything using these armies, or picking up a different army if you sell it well. Again, not looking for a power list (otherwise I'd turn to my old 12x tac w/ 2x ML), I'm looking for something that'll be fun/interesting to play. Obviously don't want something that'll get wiped off the table (Harlies have me nervous) and don't want to run 50 models. Have you ever individually fired 30 lasguns? Kill me please.

From what I understand Chaos Space Marines perform well in Kill Team. Once you start applying Marks, VotLW, etc., I would imagine the points start to add up though.

At least you aren't firing 50 lasguns.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Having Dark Angels as my main army has me morally opposed to playing heretics.

Well that is me told! Glad I didn't specifically suggest Crimson Slaughter : )

Deathwatch make poor kill teams. They die way too quick.

If you are going orks you might consider burna's and loota's. Burna's in a truck is really evil.

Lootas are sadly a heavy support choice, so can't use them in kill team. I was considering burnas, my only worry is the lower model count. If my trukk pops before I get into cooking range they're dead meat.

I like Corsairs. 4 bikes with Scatter Lasers, 3 with Splinter Cannons.

Most people call a list of all scatterbikes (slight variety of splinter cannons doesn't change it) a bit cheesy, don't you think?

Deathwatch. Six bikes, four lances. Run around at full speed tossing rerollable special-ammo shots at people and swoop in to stab them if they get out of position. Or are a vehicle. Maybe swap a couple of the lances for meltabombs, just in case. (Bonus points: 3+ save against anything that isn't cover-ignoring AP3, and you can't be slowed down by terrain.)

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Wouldn't ravenwing do a little better? I'm just thinking of rerollable 3+ (2+ for the model I give stealth), I'd only have 5 bikes but they'd all have plasma. I guess kraken bolts have 12" more range though.

Is it worth passing up AP and carapace to get the sentinel? Keep in mind I'll throw ignores cover on the lascannon (goodbye bikes, any vehicles, stuff with stealth/shroud), it's a lot less meaningful on an autocannon.

Sorry the Vets have carapace as well. I found str 7 is the highest you need to go usually, it will deal with most vehicles allowed in the game (can do the Triarch Stalker AV13 in a pinch) and your opponent won't usually have a lot of toughness 4 multi-wound models running around so instant death won't be needed.
