I have enough problems these days finding a 40k game, let alone a 30k game. What do you guys think the probability of these Custodes units finding their way into a 40k list would be? I'm most interested in the jetbikes, although they'd be the least likely to make the crossover.

Until we know the results of the Storm that is Gathering (particularly what happens, if anything, if/when Cypher succeeds in getting to Terra), the most appropriate answer is "remotely possible, but very unlikely."

If the Storm results in the Custodes becoming significantly more common as a fighting force in the 41st millenium (say, the Emperor's Golden Throne and Palace no longer need their diligent protection), porting a lot of Custodes units becomes far more likely (including the Jetbikes - they're somewhat famous for being one of the few Imperial Forces to retain them, let alone in large numbers).

I realize it's not always an option but if you can get to an event there's plenty of 40K & growing 30K out there.

Anyone know what the misercordia is? The rules say LC jet bikes have sweeping fire and can fire all weapons but only get one shooty gun per man. Is the misercordia a pistol? I also noticed multiple guardian spear types do we think this designation is the gun part of the spear?

Totally looks like something out of Dune. Amazing.

Love the tyrant termies and the bolter custodes. What in the hell is super large custodes dreadnought though!?

MMM Shai Hulud! It made me think of a sand worm, is it some kind of transport?

It's the Sisters of Silence transport. It's possibly one of the most outta left field things GW has made in a while. I think it looks fantastic. Can't imagine how much it weighs...

Not all that much. From the looks of it is mostly hollow, and only like 6 parts. Front hull that can be swapped, a seam showing that the top and sides separate just above the side pipes, probably a belly plate, and rear assembly.

Dark Mechanicum may also experiment with xenos tech and Dark Age tech. Not a switch flipped overnight, but a gradual evolution / devolution.

Prosecution of Sarum: at the bottom of Sarum there's always been something wrong...
With Sarum they could be returning to something that had been restricted...
Change is a big element of the book - tiring in the dark Mechanicum, BA and DA

End of Q&A, bug slide coming...
Magnus available at Warhammer fest

AI? Men of Iron?

Probably referring to the Castellax-Achea...

I think that is a new and potentially exclusive weapon for the dark mechanicum on the unit on the right. Aether-???? Cannon?

The models look pretty cool and clearly have something more than a Cybernetica Cortex on the go!!

Those are Thousand Sons Automata. Powered by the Warp but not Dark Mechanicum.

Sarum is the World Eaters Forgeworld, so it's not talking about the Thousand Sons Automata.

IA-13 mentions Sarum as a source for Defilers and Blood Slaughterers, so those two are likely candidates, especially the latter.

Looky Likey

The thousand sun version of the castellax are powered by the warp, so if other legions or the mechanicum are going to take them then they are going to need a source of psykers or daemons to power them. I guess they might be in book 8 as an option for dark mechanicum as book 8 sees the first daemon powered mechanicum units?

I'm really liking that new Sister's transport, just need to get the book to plan out my list.

I'm also digging the new Warlord variant, had a look at the rules and it is just dirty. Did anybody find out when its arm and head variants are coming?

I'm most looking forward to finally getting Siege Tyrant Terminators.

Seriously. Book III. THEY WERE IN BOOK III. And now we finally get them.

I reckon Dorn will be the last primarch done. With Angelus, expect the Lion and Sanguinius. After that, it'll be the White Scars turn for a book (finally!) and they'd probably face off against Alpha Legion (So Khan and Alpharius). That just leaves Dorn, assuming they don't want to do a Dæmon primarch first...

Who knows, maybe Alpharius and Dorn will be done back to back when the fighting gets closer to Terra?

Though Scars and Alpha Legion is also a possibility.

So after seeing the SoS Pursuer Cadre, anyone else suddenly found a use for those AoS gryphhounds and birds?

Nudibranch - your reading my mind.
The gryph-hounds and star eagles will be perfect stay d in models for now.

Still a little unsure about them though rules wise.
For their cost I see sisters with swords being a lot more damaging in 30k while being more resilient too.

Yeah, they seem pretty weak, like it would of been better is you could take more than 6 beasts in a unit or if they had the actual 'beast' unit type and the sisters were on some sort of jetbike or had a 'release the hounds' type ability where the beasts would detach and recieve some sort of charging bonus for doing so in exchange for lower leadership.

Eh, still love the concept of the unit so will be taking them either way.

I see myself taking the bird option tbh if I take them and using them as a support unit to hand out Blind.

However given how many points Custodes are worth and how Company Cadre works I'm not certain if I'd have the points for them.

My biggest peeve with the sisters side of the book is the snare gun.
Give us a unit of sisters capable of all taking one.
Not 4/5 members of a HQ.

They have amazing potential but in low numbers are useless.

Slap these ladies behind a LC shield wall for survivability. Everyone in the talons meshes well together. I do think I will only use one squad of pursuers, as the SOS have better units but rule of cool needs cyber dogs and hate bird swarms. The snare gun squad will see some use me thinks. And I feel like the fire pike you can give TDA LC is a points sink. Jet bikers so so sweet. my wife will leave if I build the army I want over any time period shorter than a year

If it makes you feel better bud I've hidden my bank statements from the Mrs lol.
Up to a 5k custodes army due to impulse buying and the more I see the worse it's getting.
Especially the art that is the custode jetbike.

Keep in mind sisters can gain special rules army wide too.
Give them the stealth ability and throw them behind a shield unit with shrikes.

Should help with templates and keeping them alive a lot longer.

And with snare guns it's a shame you can't take a unit of 10.
The damage is amazing.

Same. And this is how I expect the Fallen to look in 40k, so that makes it really easy for me to convince myself to make some.

On an aside, did anyone happen to ask/pester/intimidate FW about the Vyronii decals? Just curious...

Also, anyone know what the 8th are getting in Angelus? I am guessing... Atramentar? What else do they need?

While tempted by DA, I'm sticking to my guns. After I picked up the Daemon Prince Magnus as a Christmas gift, I'm going with Thousand Sons for my bad guy legion.

But damn that Black, Red, and Silver looks nice.
