Subject: The Infinity News and Rumors Thread - 2017 Edition!
Journey just means to travel from one place to another, not necessarily from/to a known start/end.
I did say I don't disagree on some level, there are things that NEED to be done rather than cranking out the next new thing, just because it's new and shiny.
I just tend to give them more leeway if they do something like this. We do need more Tohaa and USARF, definitely more so than new Pan-O crap or YJ stuff.
I have all 8 armies, and I can tell which ones are lacking.
We should start a Blackjack thread, with protests, and blackjack, and hookers!
Although sometimes I like rubbing your fur the wrong direction just to see what happens.

I completely agree, it's very frustrating to still being seeing all these loose ends and it feels like there are more and more of them as time goes on. Personally, I'm doubly irked when resources are wasted on exclusive and limited miniatures. There was a time when I loved all the surprises, I was really excited about the bootleg range and collected the limited edition miniatures for example, but it wears thin on me now.
Admittedly the Yu Jing stuff were mostly not new models but resculpts of really old sculpts that desperately needing to get in line with the new sculpts.

That's about 50% of every army outside of Tohaa.

Amen brother!
I do hope we've entered into the New Era Of Scale Consistency too - but now that means there's a lot that needs a re-do...

Until the next scale shift.

Good grief! The Yuan-Yuan-- very old minis-- need resculpts. They are not a seldom used profile either. The units appear quite often in Qapu Kalqi lists. As a QK player I say this with absolute certainty.
If the Yuan-Yuan are going to get the much needed resculpts, why not make one of those resculpts the Fat Yuan Yuan? It will certainly create some goodwill among players/customers, and it will sell.
We will get the Locust, the Blackjack and the Ayyar and the others, eventually. I would like to see them sooner. My complaint would be, "Stop adding new profiles, like this ALIVE group, until there is at least 1 mini for each already existing profile."
The Yuan Yuan were the first Infinity models I ever purchased any my Ariadna/merc force was going to be based around them.. but the game rules moved a lot faster than my ability to assemble and paint an army. On the plus side, I have Red Veil now, so maybe the old (or some kick-ass new) Yuan Yuan will still find a rules-legal home!

"Alive!" soon, it seems.

Nah.
It means that Mayacast's next painting competition is going to be for people's ALIVE conversion models, but they haven't announced it yet.
One of the rules of the competition is to include a timestamped "before" photo before paint is applied to the mini.
Tom is just heading off all the people who are about to do their own conversions so that they don't go "aww man..." when the competition is announced.

Basically, we don't know jack about them beyond they're "the Alive Anti-Establishment Group"...but they're just basically "named" Hackers.
Why tripe? World champ gets to choose which faction they belong to. Fantastic way to get the community involved.
Personally I don't care that there are profiles without minis. They'll be done eventually, and, until then, just proxy. Fat Yuan Yuan in a noodle box is why I love this company.

Ehhh....
It just means that whoever does well suddenly gets to decide what faction a group is part of. That's not "a fantastic way to get the community involved" IMO. It's a way for the high-end players/factions to get another tool for their toolkit.
All of this could have been solved ages ago by making certain types of Mercenaries available to all of the Human Sphere factions, whether vanilla or Sectorial.
Personally I don't care that there are profiles without minis. They'll be done eventually, and, until then, just proxy.
That's got nothing to do with anything I said.
If I had to pin down one specific reason why I think this whole Tagline business has been ridiculous?
It's the addition of yet more profiles to the game without any effort being made into actually filling voids. They're trying to patch the damage they did to TAGs as a unit type because of their ITS and just making more problems.
Fat Yuan Yuan in a noodle box is why I love this company.
Meh.
It's more important to them to make what are effectively inside jokes than completing their range. It's nothing new or exciting.

Is there not an Infinity Week coming soon on Beasts O' War? I hear Bostria is in Ireland to film some stuff. ( Or drink Guinness. It's not Pulpibeer, but it'll do.)

Words fail me. At least Tagline and Fat Yuan Yuan give you something new to add to your huge, convoluted and ever growing list of fatuous complaints.

So the Tech-Bee pretty much does nothing else besides give +1 WIP to other Engineer models (and Remote Pilot) for 5pt. It's even an Irregular Order. That's exceptionally lame.

A 5pt specialist with flashpulse and convertable to regular if Joan is the LT? that also boosts your engineers or the Objective grabbing remote pilot! quite handy I would say and on par with the quite favoured Tohaa diplomatic Delegate.

Hahahaha.
"We hear that people don't feel the Machinist does his job. So now you have to buy this other model to make the Machinist work better!"
I feel like that's the thought process that went on here. It completely ignores that people have been clamoring for a second Engineer for PanO, or at least AVA2 Machinists.
