It is a really easy parts breakdown. edit I mean its body, 2 arms and the two backs hip and back.

Now the boardgame plastic miniatures quality indeed does not look that bad.

IS it extra the 8 figures? Parts breakdown of the deluxe doesn't mention coming with plastic figures, just the metal. What is the price of the regular edition?

It's literally just them throwing in metal versions as well as the "meh" plastics.

Regular is 59.99 EU Deluxe is 125 and from the description it includes extra over the regular edition, the 8 metal figures, art and a certificate.

8 extra metal figs for 65 euros more isn't too bad...

Two of them are huge too

They might be "huge" but they won't be solid metal. They'll almost guaranteed to be hollow in their chests.

Even if this is so, they take the space of two models in a mould, hence more expensive.

I think going by past history by 2019 all new Infinity mini's will be the size of the blue guy, but no scale creep obviously

They look very nice all together in that photo. The Aristeia! board is composed of hexagons. I suspect more than a few boardgamers are going to wonder why the bases are round, instead of hexagonal. Cb figured out how to do large metal minis with the Maghariba guard. I bet they applied that knowledge to Eight Ball and Maximus.

But they could pay someone to paint at a level where it would matter. Or develop the skills to do so. Painting skill is not static, it can improve, or decline.

The present line is more or less consistent, only special characters break the homogeneity, Areistia is not a wargame and they can play with volumes much more freely given each miniature is by default an individual character.

Have to say, regardless of anything else, those are some absolutely cracking paint jobs on those minis

By the way: Locust and other September preorders seem to have shipped out from The Warstore.

Yeah, I just got my Beyond Red Veil box from MiniatureMarket today as well.

Last Friday for me, from GameNerdz, my Beyond Red Veil. I'm quite pleased with the Haqq minis. All 3 are outstanding. The Yu Jing minis are a mix. The Dao Fei seems undersized for HI these days, but is a good sculpt. The Zhanying is well done, the best of the 3. I have yet to assemble the Guilang, but it seems smallish.

The CSU with breaker rifle is nice too. Overall, a good expansion. better for Haqq (and Bahram) than for Yu Jing.

We are still a-waiting to see:
-Andromeda
-Taskmaster Swast team
-Crusader Brethren Multi-rifle+ LFT

The Andromeda + pet is the one I'm curious about, since I already know what the Taskmaster and Crusader Bretheren basically look like.

Depends what you mean by better. Yu Jing from Red Veil and Beyond Red Veil comes bang on 300/6, without resorting to shenanigans with profiles. All are using the standard profile they're meant to represent, even the Ninja isn't proxying as the Killer Hacker to get there.

Haqqislam comes to 292/4.5.

As a starter, giving beginners fieldable 300pt lists, the Haqqislam side falls short and requires proxying. The easiest way I found was running the 3 Ghulam as Doctors, but they're still undergunned.

While it can be argued that fudging around with profiles is just part of Infinity, for beginner forces I though they'd have put a bit more effort in to balancing them.

Which Fiday profile did you use for that, Loki?

The Khawarij can keep up with Tarik, so it gets the Doctor Plus.

(Hmm, normally list-making doesn't belong in N&R (yes?) but I think that this is useful news, since Beyond Red Veil just released, and people may want this info to decide about whether to get it, or not. )

Damn, I really want those metal models but not at those prices. In all honesty I would rather they sold the metals separately so you did not have to purchase the full game as well.
In particular I am after the hacker (alternative Interventor model) the Sniper (she is a character with stats in Infinity after all) Myamoto (As with the sniper) and the cat girl (objective marker). the 'Wild Bill' style character would make a great bounty hunter. As for the others, I am not bothered.
