I like the fact they haven't just made another "let's make it as big as possible" model, but it does seem a little too small to be considering taking on a chaos god. I imagine them to at least dwarf the FW greater demons and be many many times more powerful. I couldn't even see this as a match for Magnus who should be nothing to Slaanesh.

Remember, in the Warp sizes don't matter. Things don't have the forms they have in the material universe. They don't even make sense as far as you or I are concerned.

Did they? Where?

Don't bother they never post a link!

How do you post a link when some one said something verbally?

We have a massive thread I'm pretty sure I've seen you in, in general discussion on GW being better. The main excuse given is that how GW are embracing social media. Surely embracing social media would involve more than a single post saying how the end times is fantasy, the 40k equivalent is different, it's the time of ending. That's it.
That single sentence is being hailed as the miracle cure, it dispels all worries. But it says nothing, it gives no assurances about anything.

I am not saying you are wrong. All I am saying is how do you quote someone when they say something out loud. I have asked for proof like you have asked and the response I was given was that it was said at a Warhammer event to a crowd. So you can't post a link for that.

I agree it gives no assurances about anything.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Indeed.

The only thing I need them to blow the feth up is the codex, formation, supplement bloat.

I play Chaos Space Marines! I need these 3 books, a FW book, a rule book, and a truss!

Edit: And if they're going to take the time to consolidate gak, put the mother fething Forge World gak in the books, too.

Completely agree, just visually I couldn't see Ynnead going toe to toe with Angrath the unbound (who again should be nothing compared to an actual Chaos god) and I can't see it being that powerful rules wise.

Return of Black Guardian rules is interesting. Wonder if we'll see the Lost and the Damned again.

We'll find out shortly enough. If Eldrad comes out of hiding and says this is not Ynnead, then we'll know.

You know what this means right? Hopefully a new Aspect Path for Ynnead

Well Eldrad is hanging with Yvrainne and big red at the end of the Cadia book so I guess he's cool with things. I wonder if they will use this as Eldrad's escape route from his "death" in the original campaign? Bringing one of the most famous Farseers back to the land of the living would probably convince a lot of doubters.

Not sure of there background but plastic versions of the FW Shadow spectres would be cool, plus there in DOW3 for a nice bit of cross promotion.

Multiple people have said this many times while trying to keep in the mood of things, people from WHtv, WH40k, people on the streams.
It is pretty sad that people need things spelled out for them.

Well the model isn't Ynnead, it's an Avatar of Ynnead. Just as there are multiple Avatars of Khaine, I'd assume several Ynnead Avatars would be possible in theory, even if we only get 1 for now.
So that model doesn't need to take on Angrath in order to suggest Ynnead himself is powerful

Come to think of it, there are now tons of "Avatars" roaming around the 40K universe.
-Avatars of Khaine, now Ynnead
-Shards of the C'tan, both the Deciever & Nightbringer
-Greater Daemons are also 'avatars' of their patron gods

That's 8, 9 if you count the "Transcendant C'tan". Any others I haven't thought of?
Next we'll get avatars for Gork/Mork?
Could you consider Swarmlord an avatar of the Hivemind?

Me too. I have not been a huge fan of GW's scale creep of the past few years

It also matches the size and pose of my Avatar of Khaine conversion pretty nicely

I imagine none. This feels like a "corrected" Eldar army to me. GW's response to a lot of the complaints. I doubt you'll see Wraith units as Ynnead seems to absorb their souls instead of Slaanesh, so nothing to put into constructs anymore. Or at the least, very limited amounts of them.

Here's the fun part, devil's advocate. What is this "avatar" is just Slaanesh being cute and finding ways to get Eldar to not use soul stones. Giving them false hope and just taking their souls anyway.

Yeah, I'm afraid this will be the case. I really like the new models and want to include them into my fledgling space elf army, but as my force is pretty wraith heavy, I'm worried it might not work either mechanically or thematically.

Right because GW hasn't done the opposite of what they assured people in the past, or pulled one over with social media. Heck two months ago they pulled the infamous garbage can plastic SOB sighting stunt and look how that turned out... Hmmmmmm. I have embraced the age of Roundtree and so far they are making the right moves in the right direction, but 8 months of improvement are not going to erase a full decade of pissing off fans with dick move after dick move. If this all pans out to be OK and they don't turn the game into a silly direction I'll be the first to congratulate them and acknowledge I was wrong. But after receiving a half dozen black eyes trusting them in the past has taught me to duck a potential punch by reflex at this point.

One AoS change I would wholeheartedly embrace is the treatment of warmachines and MC's. I think they should all have a High number of wounds/hull points and as they take damage it should effect their combat stat line. That fixes and homogenizes the current mess we have with large models and cehicle imbalance. That would also allow them to eliminate /overhaul instant death/eternal warrior which I have thought is a lazy and garbage mechanic since it's invention because it completely upends the pricing mechanic they pretend to use when you pay a fair tax for something like a tyranid warrior only for it's wounds you will never actually use.

See I don't hate everything about AoS.

It's not specifically a Tau issue, it's a MC/GMC issue but tau happen to have some of the best of those units. My tactical squad costs the same as a Tau players riptide yet as I take wounds my units combat effectiveness gets worse, that riptide is just as effective on it's last wound as it was on it's first. Vehicles on the other end of the spectrum get worse as they are damaged, can be one shot killed and even suck when they move )probably the greatest sin since a tank is designed to be a mobile gun base )
