Oh, then I am mistaken. Thanks for the correction.

So we will have maybe another Gathering Storm or so and they will all take place at the same time and end at the same time, and 8th edition will be "The Storm". I really am liking this.

I don't know if that is how End Times was or was End Times in Fantasy a continuation from each other instead of being side by side?

IIRC the Eldar book and the skaven book were happening at the same time as the Nagash-Glotkin ones (which were a bit of a continuation)

Ooh, you made me remember something! I forgot about the loyalist Primarch. That could be the lead into 8th edition. But I think they would sell that separately like Magnus, not bundled in a triumverate package.

So, Dorn, new Chapter Master for X Chapter of Space Marines (You can't kill High Marshal Helbrect. donkey-caves), Grey Knight Champion (They're kind of like Space Marines)?

Nah, its going to be the Emperor and the two lost primarchs who were banished so they could return and fix things at this exact moment (Just as Planned).

Yes, there were continuations but the events of Thanquol's finale definitely happened after the other 3 and the conclussion of book 3 at the same time happened after book 2. There was juxtaposion but not a 100% as it seems Gathering Storm will be.

Or, ya know, people are smart enough to understand that what isn't said is as important as what is, and to read between the lines.

If you're some sort of GW baby bird, sat there with your mouth open blindly awaiting the next tidbit with total credulity, then it means what it says.

If, however, you've lived a bit of a life, understand that they would never have answered the question in the positive regardless of the truth, appreciate that the same organisation has outright lied before, and, more recently, used half truths and innuendo to avoid a straight and honest answer, you realise that the FB has absolutely zero value.

It may be technically correct, but that doesn't make it functionally so.

Or we could try to not attribute malicious intent where simple incompetence would suffice.
GW hasn't "lied". They just don't care to be all that specific. Or rather is just never occurs to them.

Take the "plastic sisters" bit a few months ago when the announced Magnus. They were probably just thinking "oh. I bet our custumers will love that we're released a plastic Sisters character. Let's tease that!"
They probably were not trying to give a false impression that the whole army would be plastic. They just don't think like fans is the problem

So the Facebook answer most likely has no deceit intended. 40K is not being scrapped for a new game. It may experience the same level of story changes and new model releases that the End TImes did, but when it is over, we'll get 8th edition, not a completely different system like AoS.

I don't think you can hold GW accountable for the rumor monger's guesses. They put sisters up for made to order, made a new saint, and put them out there with a list. If people assumed something else was coming, thats on them.

Well I think the WD quote of "golden, like a beacon of hope in a galaxy of darkness" all but confirms (for me at least) that we're getting that new Imperial hero. I'd bet that hat everyone seems so keen on eating that it's our Primarch.

Not saying you are wrong, but first thing I thought of was the Emperor. Isn't he portrayed in golden armour? If he dies the psychers can't travel through the warp because he is the "beacon" or "the light"? So maybe him "stirring" is the hope of him waking up and being the salvation. He doesn't have to wake up, but at least it's not so dire anymore as the golden throne failing anymore.

No, see earlier reference ITT, they outright denied the Space Hulk release was Space Hulk very shortly beforehand. That's a whole hell of a lot of incompetence, even by GW standards.

Take the "plastic sisters" bit a few months ago when the announced Magnus. They were probably just thinking "oh. I bet our custumers will love that we're released a plastic Sisters character. Let's tease that!"

Which reminds me of the quote about keeping your mouth shut and letting people think you're stupid than opening it and removing all doubt. While this is likely more incompetence and showing that nu-GW is still rather tone deaf and struggling to read the room. There's still a chance that they're coming, of course, which makes it more of a timing issue than anything else.

So the Facebook answer most likely has no deceit intended. 40K is not being scrapped for a new game. It may experience the same level of story changes and new model releases that the End TImes did, but when it is over, we'll get 8th edition, not a completely different system like AoS.

The issue is "AOSing" is a moving target. The relentless campaign to get all reference to 40K in connection to it censored, I think, evolved out of a fear that they will literally do the whole procedure verbatim, gutting of fluff, abandonment of balancing forces mechanisms, the whole 9 yards. Whereas I'd more lean towards "a substantial simplification of the rules" when I refer to it. You say "we'll get 8th Edition, not a completely different system" but I don't think that's as clear cut as you make it, at what point does change cross into substantial change and ultimately into a new system? There's shades of grey in the use of the term "AOSing" that people who get their panties bunched when you mention it around 40K I think are failing to grasp.

Well, considering that cawl and Celestine from the first triumvirate are virtually unkillable, and the only army GW likes buffing more than imperial ones are eldar, and plus I've heard some rumor of an all-eldar detachment where killed units strengthen remaining ones, I would expect some pretty crazy OP stuff from this book.

I'm going to make a wild speculation and say T6 guardians.

Great post, which will probably be ignored by the obtuse crowd once again. Discussion about wether or not they will AOSify 40k is completely meaningless unless we have a common definition of what AOSifiying means.

Back OT, we don't see a lot of it, but that Eldar scenery look ugly as hell.

Some speculation of mine regarding a returning primarch. It would make some sense to me if GW decided to choose a primarch that has not be done by forgeworld which would indicate Dorn, The Lion, Jagathai or Sanginius (would though exclude Sanginius for being killed by Horus).

They told me i was crazy, that i could not win with an army list like that. 2000 points later i found out that they were right

Look again.

He wasn't talking about that part of the 3rd photo. He was talking about this part of it - it says verbatim "these three pieces are designed to be a trilogy", the cover of the third book is currently 'classified' but he says it's going to be more of a 'golden' colour (makes sense with the first two being red and blue).
