With regards to the psychic phase on turn 1. You can only cast witchfires whilst in a vehicle and then only if there is a fire point.

Me and a mate who both have just started collecting Tau (and playing) quite enjoyed this, we both have very similar armies to the one you fielded so it was interesting to see how your use/loadout differed from ours.

In my noob opinion, run all markers in the drone net, hide them behind gak and move, mark, move. Make liberal use of the interceptor and split fire rule on them. Also, theyre a pain in the arse in combat for some reason, so bubble wrapping with them can induce rage.
Both me and my friend have both experimented with the OSC and retaliation cadres. Both ditched the retaliation pretty quick; you lose a riptide and broadside for one shooting phase and it just never seemed worth it for that +1bs and the risk of mishap. I love the OCS, i used it aggressively with the aim of just shutting a flank down and earning its points back, every benefit the wall of mirrors has is brutal, if you can use that fire power on turn one to atleast immobilise some transports you are quids in if you've planted your riptide and broadside on the back line in cover.

Then just drop a feth tonne of suicide suits in to catch objectives and reap a bit of havok.

Obviously, as someone who only started playing in november im still very very inexperienced, this is just what we've found through playing a doubles tournament and a few games a week. (and watchng tabletop tactics and viscast obsessively)
Maybe look at getting some breachers in there as well. I actually dont know what id do without them.

Hey there dude!

So I've found that running all markers is a waste as the OSC gets +1 BS and ignores cover anyway so you'll end up losing markers which I find a waste of points. Agree on the bubble wrap as helps in a few situation.

The Retaliation Cadre I always take when running my mecha list. You don't have to deep strike them but if you do you can use homing bseacons on the stealth teams to drop them in without scatter. Having the option with the Retaliation Cadre too helps to deny certain armies their advantage and keeps options open like denying a flank or dropping where it will give you longer distance from certain uni stuff imo.

Great thoughts though and always experiment with your load outs as certain weapons perform cub better depending what your up against.
