First wave of my Harlequins ready to paint. Gonna be a slow process to add the other 3. These guys are around 900 points give or take, depending on if I use one as a Mime or a Player. Thought it best to load up the Leader and Specialist at the start, then build up more bodies as I go.
I'm intending playing at the local GW shop and their table has pretty dense terrain that should allow me to zoom about out of line of sight til I can get close enough for stabby fun times.

I had the intention of doing something similar, good to see a nice (really nice!) proof of concept to use as my 'guide.'

Only problem is that I really, really want them bobcuts, and there really seems to be nothing out there that does the job quite right.

Bit of background, I’ve been super hyped since the details of Shadow War started to emerge. 2nd Edition was my edition. However, as more details emerged, I hit a bit of an obstacle. For all the ~4000pts of Space Marines I have painted, I ain’t got no scouts (they just don’t fit the army… thematically). Sooo, I could paint the scouts from the SWA box and sacrifice the narrative integrity of my Space Marine Chapter ….. Orrr, I could start painting some of the Traitor Guard army which I’ve been building for ages, but swore not to take a brush to until all my Space Marines were finished (I’m close).

Chose the latter, so here they are….
Spoiler:

I’ll run them as Veteran Imperial Guard for now. I might paint a couple of Death Guard and run them as cultists in future.

Painting-wise I was trying to toe that line between a quality that I’m happy with, and the realities of having around 130 of them to paint (and I’d like them to be consistent). Still not quite finished, they need another sprinkling of weathering powder around the feet, and the need varnished/sealed.

I’m really happy with the overall look to be honest. Very close to how I imagined them. I think it works.

I have those Chaos Cultists models from Dark Vengeance that I'll probably knock into some sort of crew. A Chaos Space Marine as Spec Ops.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I find passive aggressive messages in people's signatures quite amusing.

I've alwayed liked Tyranid Warriors, but they're sort of terrible in 40k proper (and I've no interest in making a giant Tyranid swarm army), but they're perfect as a small skirmish killteam.

Two 'Gun Beasts', which are the heaviest conversions. Tyranids are awesome, but I've never really liked the whole bioweapons/swords that are held like guns. I wanted something totally removed from anthropomorphism, and thus... the "Bee-rex"

Sorry moderators for necroing the thread. But can somebody tell me how those gun beasts where made?!

Those are some noice looking heretical scum.

Care to share the paint scheme please?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.
