The Wurmspat

Consisting of two Putrid Blightkings and Sorcerer Fecula Flyblown, this Warhammer Underworlds warband employs the unique play style of the Maggotkin of Nurgle – they’re durable, relentless and superb at wearing enemies down in a battle of attrition. Also, if you thought Nurglings were cute, check out this adorable little retchling!

I’m not expecting any underworlds reveals tonight, seeing as the Ogre was revealed at the last event and isn’t out yet.

I rest my case

Anyway, they look fantastic. Can't wait to see how they play

Makes me want a set to build a Nurgle Bloodbowl team. Remove the spear and axes and have Blightking linemen and a coach with mascot.

Wrong? The tactical bait/7D chess move to draw out the preview was masterfully done!

Couldn't agree more, awesome models. Been anticipating Nurgle since S1 and I'm very pleased to see them worth the wait

Both the Ogor and the Nurgle bands up next weekend:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/01/26/pre-order-preview-new-beastgrave-warbands-and-the-wrath-of-the-everchosen/

The Wurmspat apparently include a new card type, we’ll see more about them this week.

Gonna guess permanent debuff card that is applied to an enemy model.

I think the Wurmspat get cooler every time I see them, incidentally. I love the guy with the spear, very menacing.

Those Blightkings look pretty huge? The crone seems close to the ogre.

I want both warbands. Poor wallet.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Just a friendly reminder, not tabletop related, but is Warhammer Underworlds adjacent I suppose:

Expected launch of Warhammer Underworlds: Online is on the 28th according to Steam.

Clarification: Early Access starts the 28th, with 4 warbands.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1022310/Warhammer_Underworlds_Online/

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We plan to keep Warhammer Underworlds: Online in Early Access for approximately two to three months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The Early Access version of the game will contain four warbands and their warband-specific cards, ready to play in online matches. We will include a large number of Universal cards at launch so players can build exciting and diverse decks to take into battle! A major benefit of the Early Access period is that we are able to continually develop and add content - we will be dropping Universal cards for FREE at regular intervals throughout this period and beyond. This is to allow you to customise your decks regularly try out new strategies to defeat your opponents! At full release, all players will have the opportunity to purchase new DLC warbands, which will be accompanied by their warband-specific cards.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“At Early Access launch, the game will consist of a two-player multiplayer mode, with both casual and competitive ranked matchmaking, as well as a player-vs-AI mode. Warhammer Underworlds: Online launches with four warbands (Steelheart’s Champions, Magore’s Fiends, Sepulchral Guard, and Ironskull's Boyz), and we’ll be dropping free extra content throughout the Early Access period such as extra cards!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“No, the game will be the same price during and after Early Access! We will not be increasing the price, but Early Access adopters will receive four exclusive warband faction skins, which will be unavailable for new players once we hit full release.”

Don't like the implications that they keep stressing FREE! universal cards during Early Access, and future warbands and their specific cards will be DLC.

They are two warbands I would go for if I was gonna play the game. I like the look of both two, the Blightkings look quite similar to existing models (not that I e gone back and searched, but like from memory they don’t stand out as unique), but the hag look is very cool.

Won’t get them as no one plays it, and I must stop just buying models..
But nice stuff for sure!

New card type… contagion-related because Nurgle, natch, but what? Some kind of reverse upgrade you attach to an enemy to debuff them seems like it could work without distorting the existing mechanics too much.

Ok, what is the third thing the Nurgle Spearman is holding? One is a skull. One is a skull with a crown. And then, something orruk? I can't tell and its bugging me.

Interestingly, the other Nurgle guy also has an Orruk head on his belt.

Its a press release...
Those aren't real questions from people.
Its a marketing blurb from the developers. Its playing on Fear of Missing Out by stressing that you'll get free stuff if you rush and buy the early access version rather than waiting to see if its any good on release.

It definitely isn't rocket science.

As a mod in their discord?

Yes, those are real questions from people. We get that one specific question a ton of times.

>It's FOMO.

You're getting those freecards regardless of EA. Those are updates for the game, available to anyone who plays, regardless of EA.

Spoiler:

Wonder if that "shadowy" creature will ever lead to something down the line? It's certainly unique.

So, what can we expect from the DoK warband? One melusai, two witch aelves, and a sister of slaughter?
