So under the wargear options, theres a line that reads "a Tyranid Warrior must be armed with one item chosen from the Tyranid Hand-to-Hand Bio-weapons or Basic Bio-weapons list."
Am i limited to picking a single item, or is it meant to mean i must take at least one option?

Note, it's not an option. No idle hands in the Hive Fleet.

I'd say it means exactly one of the listed options - no more, no less. I don't think Tyranids carry around extra bio-weapons in their bio-backpacks.

At creation, RAW and RAI suggest you are limited to taking a single item, which you must do.

However, after your 1st or any subsequent match, you can then change that item into another set of items during the Rearm step where you get 100 points to play with as long as your Leader's not dead (ok, that's strangely an ironic phrasing there). That's what's described in the Resupplying a Tyranid Warrior Kill Team list, specifically with the example they gave, too, where they swapped out the starting Scything Talons.

We had a Tyranid player who was struggling with this and, after much deliberation on RAW and RAI, that is what he believes it to mean, and the rest of us think it is the closest adherence to RAW and makes sense RAI with the example they showed. The Tyranid list takes some forward planning.

Not sure if you got access to the book, let us know if you need more information on the Recruit/Rearm/spend your Cache step in the post-game.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

I think that example is there more to illustrate that you can replace your automatic starting set of scything talons, rather than your required second weapon.

Also, it says that Tyranids can't swap bio-weapons amongst the Kill Team.
