OSL and night time experiment (again). Turned out pretty good. I edited a black background for this picture, but for some reason it dakkadakka (and other sites) recognise them as the same picture and refuse to allow both of them to be up at the same time, so you will have to imagine the black background.
Some people might consider this model NSFW so I put it behind a spoiler just in case (though I think that's silly).
Rarely has a finished model ever made me this happy. I feel like it's the culmination of years of work, and that even better things are going to get even better down the road.
I can't emphasise this next word enough. Enjoy!
It looks amazing! The colours you have created on the face - the warmth in the cheeks, nose and neck, the shadows in the creases and folds, and the wet look on the lips - all look so convincing. Well done!

Thank you for the compliment. She turned out as well as I could have possibly hoped, but soon I'll try something even more ambitious. In the meantime here's a commission I finished yesterday. Someone liked the Yu Jing models I did in the past and wanted a few more done in the same style.
I figured a colourful and atmosferic diorama would give me the best chance of winning the massivevoodoo painting challenge of 2020, and this is what I came up with. Since the model itself is very small and simple I concluded shifting the focus away from the austronaut himself and onto his soroundings would be the smart move. So, I decided to put him on a very large diorama to emphasise how small he is compared to the vastness of space, I placed him on planet covered with glass to show it's beauty. Lastly, I gave him something to wave at - himself, again to show how alone he is.

This time I don't have any new models to show you, but I do have new pictures. Here you can see Merlins pictures taken with a better camera, and pictures of the bullet ant with a white background rather than a black one. I'm also painting another ant, which you will get to see soon.
There is some phenomenal work here! The space man is sheer poetry!
You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!
