I'll admit I don't follow non-ork FW releases that much, but I've never even heard of a leviathan dreadnought.

Though, the datasheet made me realize something - because stats aren't capped at 10 anymore, dreadnought power fists actually do something now. So, this walker, and presumably the orkanaut, are str 16 with a power fist.

That's pretty cool.

Well, it has implications for 30k, since they are normally a 30K unit.

Here are the 7th edition rules for the same model: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/Datasheets/LeviathanSiegeDreadnoughtRules.pdf

Basically just take out the word "Hell" and you're good to go!

I think they'd just have to add in the Phosphex launcher and take out that soul-eating healing mechanic and voila

What is the 7th ed equivalent of the soulburner rivawhatever? Also, why would anyone ever take claws over the drill?

I assume if you upgrade to the claws over the drills you cant swap into a bombard or whatever since the rules state it can only exhchange its drill/melta for one of the super weapons.
So you either go dedicated hand to hand with claws or a mix of shooty and hth with the drills/super weapon combo.

That will depend entirely on how much the upgrade costs, I suppose. I imagine that the drill is good enough to support a pretty hefty upgrade price.

Says you can exchange claw(s) to drill. Also another row saying can exchange one claw to gun. So use first line to change one drill and secondto gun.

Since this is the 40k version from the Dark Mechanicum Hellforges, it looks like they've equipped it with a lot of the weapons they also use on the Decimator daemon engine.

Butcher Cannons, Siege Claws and Soulburner Petards are all Decimator weapons.

Butcher cannon is currently 36" 8 4 Heavy4
Soulburner Petard is currently 24" 5 5 Ordnance 1 Large Blast Rending

Soulburner Ribaudkin is probably quite a different weapon, though, since a 'Petard' is a kind of mortar and a 'Ribaudkin' was a sort of organ gun.

I'm betting these just line up with the existing weapon options for Leviathan.

Ribaudkin = Cyclonic Melta Lance
Butcher = Stormcannon
Grav Flux Bombard = Grav Flux Bombard

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.
