Okay, maybe two. Took quite a bit longer than planned, but I like how they turned out in the end. Not anywhere near as impressive as the work some of the luminaries here produce, but for a gaming standard they're nice enough in my wholly unbiased opinion. My main goal isn't to become the next Big P, but more that to have a force that's not a total embarrassment to put across the table from someone who's good at painting. Yeah, they're not award-winning, but they clearly show effort.

Without further ado, a couple of shots of the fictional Battle of Tischplatte (German: Tabletop) which are spoilered due to large images:

As slow as I get things done I just wanted to celebrate finally getting a hobby project "out the door" as it were; yeah I know P&M might be a better place, but they're historicals. Thanks for looking!

Very nice, I'd be very proud to field two forces like those. The camo on the panthers is top notch. Well done old boy lol

Thank you for the kind words!

The camo pattern was my first attempt at free-hand airbrush. Definitely some learning pains with that, but I agree the overall effect turned out nice for these models. Figured my attempts at a pattern would mimic soldiers in the field spraying the colors on somewhat haphazardly. Not sure that plan is going to work for Team Yankee stuff though; hard-edged and factory-applied camo schemes are less flexible.

I should hopefully have a bit more American light armor painted up over the weekend and if so I'll pop up a couple image of them in the early part of next week.

Appreciate the compliment!

I did manage to finish a US Calvary Group box now as well:

Jacksons and Chaffees (Might have overdone the weathering a bit, but I figured as "hard-charging" light tanks they'd kick up more dirt):

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Very nice work and level of detail at 15mm.

Think you have got the WW2 US colour spot on as well!

Thanks!

I spent quite a bit of time researching the colors. Big credit to BF for their guide on US Uniforms which is essentially what I followed and I used mostly Vallejo paints. When I read that Vallejo's US Olive Drab (the color on the Bazooka) was a bit too dark compared to the color used on armor in the war, I was a bit concerned about having to go over all those tanks in Brown-Violet which apparently is spot-on. I had their Olive Drab primer and figured it would at least be a decent shadow coat but it turned out that despite the name the primer is actually almost the same color as Brown-Violet to my eye (admittedly, I am mildly red-green color blind, but nobody has commented on a two-tone tank from the one that was fully drybrushed). Finding that out saved a ton of time, and freed up the time to get to the details and highlighting/washing rather than having to go over the bulk of the model to get the base to the right shade.

Still quite pleased with how it all looks on the table; just need to decide which of the myriad forces will be next so one or the other can actually be used for games instead of "dioramas." Toss-up between Big Cats and US Armored Rifles right now; not sure I want to start experimenting with the Soviets just yet.
