How viable is it to deepstrike chaos characters and then summon my demon sea monkeys on turn 2? Do I lose too much time?

Your chaos character who deep struck will be out in the middle of nowhere and then shot off the table. You're better off with a character on a bike with a fast escort moving from their deployment cover into middle of the table cover on turn one, then on turn two from the middle of the table you have a huge circle around yourself to drop deamons in any direction they need to be in. Make that character a sorcerer and utilize their magika in the turn one to Warp Time something up the board or even themselves into a better position or their escort into a turn one charge to keep the enemy off your summoning character. Bike characters are able to get into position far easier than deep striking characters due to their insanely fast movement and no 9 inch restricted movement. It is very easy with 20 inch movement to get SOMEWHERE advantages and then put a unit of deamons somewhere even better, and with a sorcerer you can then Warp Time what you just summoned in for an instant charge.
Yes yes sorcerers are the devil, but until we get some Legion Tactics they are the only way to be as competitive as the other armies with things like deep striking and summoning.

Glad to see this thread.
So far I've noticed that it's tough for Bloodletters to actually kill something, especially hordes. I was up against a 100 ork boyz this weekend and just couldn't make a dent.
Khorne troops do high quality damage, but it's hard to win against the humble ork boy with far greater number of attacks.

I've not had any trouble with hordes using Berzerkers. I feel that Bloodletters are better against things with good saves and high wounds as their -AP is very powerful in that situation. Berzerkers on the other hand are stupidly powerful against low wound high model count units due to the number of attacks they get on the charge plus their S6 chainaxe attacks. Most blob units are toughness 3 so Berzerkers have no problem cutting them down.

I see your point, I was thinking of bubble wrapping zufor with terminators as they might be able to survive a turn. Or just deploying the character out of LOS but yea...

Terminators are, in my opinion and going off the rules right now, not good for Khorne armies. When the codex comes out and we hopefully get legion tactics I'm hoping Terminators benefit from it.

+1 to this.
Bezerkers with chainswords have effectively 6 attacks each that are hitting on a 3+ and wounding on a 3+. What can 10 bezerkers do to 30 orks?
(2/3 to hit) * (2/3 to wound) * (5/6 failed save) * 61 attacks = ~22.222 dead orks a turn.
On the plus side for the orks, the ~7-8 boys remaining can get a charge off, since every other ork anywhere near the bezerkers will have been converted into chum.

If you aren't moving your Berzerkers up / around the Orks as they are being removed, you are doing it wrong. You get 3 inches before you fight and 3 inches after you fight, for Berzerkers that is 12 inches total maximum movement. You better be using it!

Hi Guys,
I still have a unbuilt skullcannon / bloodthrone. In 7th ed, it was a no brainer but now, i'm not sure how I should build it.
The herald should be a good buffer for my bloodcrushers or my blood letters and the melee capabilitiƫs sound fun with crushing impact and 5 attacks but its freaking slow and 5+ is lame. On the other hand, the skull cannon is tougher, it can shoot but may be very random in term of damages caused, also its melee capabilities are weak after crushing impact. It would be nmore of a defensive tool but not very efficient.
what doy ou think ? what are your experiences ?
Cheers

I built mine as a skull cannon which is nice against horde armies due to the +10 model rule on it However I feel like there are better options for the slot (forgefiend, other things). On the plus you get an extra herald which you can use separately which is nice. Honestly if I had to do it over again I'd just magnetize it. Requires a little bit more work but IMO is worth it.
