I wonder about having a couple of Drop Pods come in along with 2 Deathwing Termie squads and Belial. Still, that's 7 units (more if I take any other characters in the pods), meaning I have to squeeze 7 more in that set up on the board. I do think that it might make a nasty alpha strike depending on what's in the pods (thinking Grav or MM devs or even pure melee Assault marines with plasma pistols).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

So I suddenly realized yesterday one thing that could bring pods back to reasonable status. (more like connected dots, since I knew this already, but just didn't think about it while I was thinking about drop pods.)

Transports aren't limited to one unit.

This means you could have one pod cough out two heavily equipped devastator squads, bringing the pod to "effectively" 50ish points per unit cost.

I just wish they had a rule that said that the pod at the very least didn't count against you for determining half of your units that you have to deploy.

Any price hike is worth it to put my Dreadnoughts in my opponent's face on the first turn.

...whaddaya mean they can't carry Dreads anymore!? Sonnovabi- good thing I never found any really good deals on ebay so still only have my three Lucius Pods.

Guess I have to wait for Forgeworld.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I know.
The nine inch rule also hurts pretty bad, if the Lucius can get around that I'll still grab them.

They are 120. No warhead. I find this acceptable as a space wolf player with our sword and board dreads and murderfang. Otherwise... nah.
