I know that the Chaos Space Marine Codex is just around the corner.... but I cannot help myself.
We have a pretty clear idea of the different Legion traits. What Legion do you think have the trait and rules if you say ...wanted to field 20 - 30 chaos terminators

Thousand Sons. Chaos Terminators are not bad by any means, but Scarab Occults are exceptional.

If you must pick a Legion in the book, then probably World Eaters. Though running lots of Terminators, while good, is likely inferior to running lots of zerkers.

Probably world eaters to melee everything to death from deep strike. You could also go with EC for shooty deep strike, to help deal with the quite likely charge. IW (with combi plasma even) might work for dislodging dug in defenders.

If you don't want to deep strike that many (and you may not with such a large portion of your army consisting of them) black legion or renegades helps move them around. Alpha legion helps get them survive getting into range as well.

Terminators with the mark of Nurgle are normally nothing to sneeze at. Toughness 5 is pretty good nowdays.

Marks don't do that. The codex leaks seem to indicate they will continue to not do that in the future.

Also toughness 5 is garbage compared to last edition, as a DG player it does nothing vs the common str 3 or less common 6/7. It's good vs overcharged plasma and most bolter varieties. Compared to last edition it's just so meh.

Vigo. Spain.

Playing Tau, I really hate T5.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

It depends on what you are wanting to do with your terminators. If your going for close combat, I'd go for World Eaters for the extra attacks. But Emperor's Children could work well too, they get decent close combat bonuses, and there's a strategem that allows a unit to shoot twice. and a Psychic power that gives feel no pain 5+ to a unit.

Couldn't agree more!
Today, I jumped a Stormsurge with 5 scarab occults and they killed it over the course of the game simply by forcing it to fall back, eating some shots and constantly charging it again, and I rolled abysmally bad.

Admittedly he didn't screen the thing well and his army's attention was drawn elsewhere but still, scarab occults are amazing. I got my ass handed to me by 3 squads of 10 scarab occults flanked by Magnus and a Daemon prince about a month ago.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

More than likely none.

Possibly Emperor's Children. Double shooting and striking before some chargers. But there are definitely better options for the former, and probably for the latter.
World eaters are another option if you want to focus them as chargers (but there are better options for that).

The non-god legions so far are trash for terminators (and largely anything else).

Renegades may be a possibility- advance and charge can be useful (if true).

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Alpha Legion Termies can infiltrate 9" away from enemies. better than DS for first turn charge if you know you're going first, because you can move before the charge.

Black Legion Termies can advance and fire rapid fire weapons (although only once given the wording of their rule) and get buffed to high heaven by Aby.

World Eaters get tons of attacks for choppy Termies.

Emperor's Children get tons of attacks indirectly through abilities and a bit of luck.

Night Lords don't really get much specifically benefiting Termies other than maybe a -1 to hit them for a CP.

Iron Warriors termies ignore cover, useful for assaulting gunlines behind barricades etc.

Word Bearers get nothing.

Renegades get to advance and charge, great for choppy Termies.

Mark of Khorne will get you a double round of CC and some anti-psyker stuff.

Mark of Slaanesh will get you double shooting and a possible 5+ FnP.

Mark of Nurgle will get you a possible -1 to hit and the ability to heal wounds and recover models.

Mark of Tzeentch will get you a 4++ save.

Pretty much any of the legions offer Termies something, as do any of the 4 marks and their corresponding psychic power and stratagem.

You can take Termies as shooty, stabby or both and find something from several of the legions to benefit them. The question should be how you want to play them, and more importantly, which legion do you like the best?

The way the codex is set up now (you can see reviews on youtube now btw), every legion is very versatile and by switching up marks and psychic powers you can do practically anything you like. If you wanted an all Terminator army (or mostly Termies using the Vanguard detachment) then taking Black Legion and Abaddon will give you 2 extra CP's to compensate the loss of a Battalion detachments CP's. Alpha Legion will give you he best turn 1 Alpha Strike capability (Alpha un-ironically offers the best alpha). World Eaters are far and away the best assault Termies. Emperors Children are probably the best balanced all-round Termies, being second best in CC and having the double shooting stratagem available, plus a defensive FnP psychic power.

I;d rate them thus:

1.) Alpha Legion. MoN or MoS plus matching sorcerer. Nurgle probably better offering -1 to hit that stacks with the -1 over 12" of AL, plus spending CP's to heal wound and bring dead models back. Slaanesh gives you a 5+ FnP and option to spend CP's for double shooting in 12" rapid fire range turn 1, and then some of the Slaanesh CC options too.

2.) Emperors Children. All sorts of combat buffs - always go first, exploding hits on kils, FnP plus the shooting.

3.) World Eaters. They'll mince stuff in CC with +1 A and option for double hitting (but at 3CP's that's expensive).

4.) Black Legion with Abaddon. not many actual BL buffs but Aby will buff the crap out of our Termies and he allows you to go for an all elite army and not lose CP's.

Finland

Slaanesh Night Lords Terminators with:
-In Midnight Clad Stratagem (1 CP)
-Endless Cacophony (2 CP)
-Delightful Agonies psychic power (6 WC)
So the unit can shoot twice, has 5+ FnP and enemy has -1 to hit when shooting at them. As additional fear factor, you can activate Endless Cacophony again next turn if enemy decides to ignore the unit.

That should be devastating combo against enemy, but very expensive too.
It is also fluff heresy, but we can pretend Night Lords are just using chaos and not the other way around. This is fluffy as this is what the poor night lords like to think all the time.
