Hey Everyone!

Many of you have already heard, and some of you may have not, but there is a Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament coming to Legions Hobbies and Games this November 11th & 12th, and it's time to start reserving your tickets!

You can take a read through the Steel City Showdown Primer for all the important details, head over to the The Steel City Showdown! Event Page to talk about it and let us know you're interested, and stop by Steel City Legion, our club page, to maybe let us know you'd like to join! (There's T-shirts!)

Most importantly, of course, once you've read the Primer and come to the conclusion that you would like to attend, you should send an e-mail to SteelCityLegion@gmail.com with your name and an e-mail for your Paypal account, so we can send you an Invoice for the ticket price ($60.00). That's all you have to do to get signed up.

Attendees will get special dice, poker chips, and other stuff, including numerous opportunities at glory.* So take a read and send us an e-mail and let's make the Pittsburgh area's first GT in years a great one!

*Except Conscripts who run, we shoot those.

Any questions, comments, or ideas may be directed to either myself or Icelord via PM. We look forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh!

75.00 seems really steep?

How many people usually show up?

Never argue with an idiot you just lower yourself to their level.

Really steep? It isn't exactly an incredible increase over the usual price for GT admission.... We are doing an early registration discount. So, if that's 5-10 too many dollars for you to stomach, but you'd still like to come, you're in luck.

We're planning quite a lot of prize support, raffles, other things of that sort, and catering for lunch. We also intend to spread the prize support around so a very good portion of participants should be going home with some of the spoils.

Our regular, single-day events, which we run every six weeks or so, have not dipped below 30 in attendance for a long time. An event just last saturday had 32 players, slightly below our average.

If you're asking specifically about attendance for the Steel City Showdown, this is the first one that's run in years, possibly since 5th Edition (I can't quite recall). Those used to take in over 50 people.

I've been to GT's that cost 10-15 less but didn't give anything at all for attending (i.e. Chips/dice/lunch).

In the casting shack.

Honestly seems like a good deal to me, do all attendees get the chips and dice?

Yep, every person will receive 5 dice and 6 chips with the club iconography. You'll be able to use different dice during the event of course; we can't imagine 10 being quite enough!

Hey guys, just a quick notice that we've elected to reduce the entry fee to $60 now, as we've got all our immediate overhead out of the way for Chips and Dice and so on. So if you were looking for a slightly reduced price, your dreams have come true!

Hey guys,

We've got about 20 spots left on our roster, and we're trying to stretch out and grab hold of Major status, so if you're on the fence and contemplating a trip to see "the Paris of Appalachia," now's as good a time as any to do it!
