Hi guys
I know Russes aren't widely considered to be great any more, but I'm not a competitive player and want an armoured company themed army which is fun to play with. Let me know what you think.

Vanguard detachment:

Look awesome!!! Love the tone of green.
Maybe at least toss some troops in the chimera's
I know being non-competitive is fine. But no need to throw a game because your tanks cant grab an objective sitting on ruins.

The veteran squads are in the chimeras. I like the idea of them rather than regular infantry because I can cram them full of flamers, which just seem to be awesome in 8th

Well, Pask doesn't have enough orders for all your tanks. You should upgrade one of your other tanks to be a Tank Commander, then you'll have enough orders for everyone. Of course the real gain is that for an extra 40 points you get +1 BS.
Don't forget to buy hunter killer missiles for your tanks. They're worth it, 5 points for a 1 shot krak missile, fire them asap! Really good on Pask or a TC, perfectly fine on the other tanks.
Stormbolters are also always worth it. Get some for every tank!
Your heavy weapon squads are two wounds at t3 and 5+ save away from losing a 20 point lascannon. That's painful. Additionally, giving orders to Heavy Weapon squads is statistically worse than using those points to buy more heavy weapon squads. I reccomend you drop the commander, buy 3 mortars. Mix them in with your lascannons to give you 9 point units you don't mind losing if someone takes pot shots at your HWS.
Report back how the veterans thing works out. I haven't been impressed by flamers on infantry at all yet. In case you hadn't noticed though, a Veteran squad can take 1 HF and 3 F.

I think you are paying a heavy premium for veterans to having auto hitting flamers. 4 special weapons teams with 3 flamers each would cost less than those 2 vet squads plus platoon commander. You can fit two teams per chimera so you can have 6 flamers inside of each chimera.
With the saved points you can take a bunch storm bolters on your tanks. They are a great use of points.
I agree that your auto cannon team and lascannon HWT will be targeted right away. It would be better to put 2 mortars and 1 lascannon in each team instead or if you want mortar, autocannon, lascannon. This will save you points too in order to upgrade a leman Russ to a tank commander.
So with the same points you could remove both vet squads, the platoon commander and company commander, and both HWTs. In their place you can upgrade one leman Russ to a tank commander, take 4 special weapons teams with 3 flamers each, 3 HWTs with 2 mortars, 1 lascannon each and 6 stormboltera one per leman russ

Thanks for the tips guys.
I forgot to say above that every Russ has a Heavy Stubber. I know they're not as good as stormbolters (unless they don't move) but I love the .50cal look that they've got going on, and the rule of cool is the most important rule to me
So given what I already own in the image, and my desire to have a mostly tank army, what do you think I should add?

If you did the special weapons teams instead of vet route with the 12 extra points you could add 2 hunter killer missiles or 2 storm bolters for chimeras and a stubber for the manticore

What color was the base coat on the tanks?
And I would personally suggest another tank Commander and switch out a HWS for mortars

I primed/basecoated them with the new Death Guard Green spray, recess shaded with Agrax Earthshade, and then drybrushed with Nurgling Green and Palid Wych Flesh.
Really quick and really easy
