Not necessarily. There are two more codexes coming this year, it is possible Thousand Sons are one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Thousand Sons and Space Wolves in December.
Not necessarily.
Remember they said " You can expect to see around 10 new codexes before Christmas, starting with Codex: Space Marines, coming later this month."
These 8 might be it, especially if they consider things like the Talons of the Emperor booklet part of the offering. Inversely, there might be 3 or 4 more codexes coming.
I can already see the internetz break out in whining and complaints when GW doesn't deliver exactly 10 codexes by Christmas (despite GW never claiming they would).

That they've gone this long without update is baffling, and to continue to do so indefinitely is beyond understanding.
The problem with Aspect Warriors is that they are a structure designed for a bygone age of metal small-run miniatures.
They all have drastically different aesthetics that would almost all require individual kits, with a single weapon type with very few swap-options.
To warrant a plastic kit now, you need to have either loads of swap-options, or the ability to be bundled with a "different unit" that is actually a weapon/sometimes head swap.
You could probably swing it with Fire Dragons/Reapers, maybe Spiders/Scorpions, Hawks/Banshees if you really stretched it (and didn't mind mostly female Hawks). but that's still 3 plastic kits, which nowadays is practically a minifaction release.

Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

Or they could release 5 models in a kit, with a minimum unit size of 5 say, and then include options to make the exarchs. That way if a player wanted the exarch, they would have to buy a minimum of two boxes, I suspect this would sell more than a seperate exarch model and a base kit of 5. I would fall for that ploy in a second with Orks. I will not likely buy a $31 painboy on its own, but I would spend another $40 to buy another box of boys, or lootas, or burnas that I don't really need (who am I kidding, of course I need those) to get said painboy.

Hi, CSM player here.
We didn't even get Cypher released as a seperate clampack though GKs got theirs.
Don't hold your breath for new kits. Welcome to the Get Everyone Their Codex rush - new kits will follow after all that has been done I reckon. Unless you're SM or a new faction. Then they'll give you the cursory new kits.

This is good news for the Necrontyr. I am hoping we are last, or at least close to the end. Ideally it is better to get a codex after the Eldar codex redefines the environment by creating power creep and then benefiting from the elevated norm.
Also wondering how 9th is going to work. 7th lasted two years prior to the launch of 8th so getting a codex one year in is not going to be worth spending the money. Has anyone tried using their codex through Battlescribe?

7th lasted 3 years. And GW talked about 8th being a living rule set so I certianly expect it to last more than a few years, especially with Chapter Aproved providing anual updates.

Or as they have no plastic model and the re-do of the Tyranid Warrior kit was one of the more recent Tyranid changes they'll just remove Shrikes from the rules altogether.
-hiss-
But I can see that. It would be disappointing. Shrikes might be the one datasheet we get as 'conversion allowance' like the Dread Knight Grand master and such.
Or it'll be like Apothecaries and Techmarines on Bikes - "Use the Index entry!"
Surprised that The Thousand Sons aren't in there yet. December, then?

Oh yes, so to play 40k it will require at least 4 books. I like the way they streamlined things...
Given what I have experienced from 8th so far having living rules sounds to me like a tire fire.

You can always go back to the dumpster fire that is 7th. I'm loving 8th so far while 7th was an unplayable mess. Each to their own of course, and I assume you have your models and 6th/7th edition rulebooks, so you've very much got the option to continue playing your preferred ruleset.

6th rules with Necron 5th codex is probably my favorite even though some models I like were unplayable.
My strong objection to 8th is mostly because of the shameless profiteering on the shoulders of pandering, even by GW standards. Truth be told, if I could get anything close to decent value out of my 8K Necron collection I would probably just sell everything and move on to something else.

I sincerely doubt we will see new models for anything that has kits. If it is an all new unit like the Primaris Marines and all the Death Guard stuff. So if a new Aspect comes out, they will likely get a new kit. But everything else is probably going to languish with old kits for the time being.
I really hope Chapter Approved doesn't mess with my armies too much. I am really liking where they are at right now.

Yeah it's not really reasonable to expect new kits for every single army in a single year particularly when what basically amounts to two new small scale factions are also being released.
So I wouldn't expect anything new for all but the most unit starved armies. For example, new tsons are a possibility as are more ynnari whenever they come. I'd also say SoB should qualify but well.... we all know how that goes.

At this point, I'd put more money on new Ynnari(?) whatever units to eventually eclipse and (long term) replace Eldar craftworld units. I think we'd see new units for that army/race before we'd see actual plastics produced for some of the oldest miniatures in the game at the moment.

Ehhh...I didn't expect we'd see a new Eldrad yet we did.
I think Ynnari might get a swathe of new models when their book hits(they're effectively a new faction after all) but I can see us getting new stuff for older armies done to tie in with campaigns and the like.

Maybe if they did the releases like they should with more emphasis on models rather then the publlishing company they seem to have become over the last 6 years and do real releases. A new codex with models every other month. I miss the days of 4th/ 5th when there was a codex and army box set that came out along with several new units every 2-3 months. They used to alternate with fantasy and LOTR. This whole 10 codexes by the end of the year idea just is slowed. The only codexes I plan on actually buying are the orks (my main army) and Chaos (my step sons main army). I own about 10 different armies but none of them will see a new codex from me I will just use the indexes as I don't or wouldn't play any other army competitively. Even if orks are not as competative in 8th once the codex settles.
