Hi!

Noob question:

In "Index: Imperium 2" it says "Points per model (Does not include wargear)".

Do this also apply to the weapons the model comes equipped with from the start, like Leman Russ Battle Tanks battle cannon? Or should I Count Leman Russ 132 p + battle cannon 22 p = 154 p? Or is it (as I suspect) just 132 p?

Thanks in advance.

The base Leman Russ is 132pts, and you need to add the cost of the battle cannon at 22pts, for a total cost of 154pts. This is the same for all Leman Russ variants, as you must purchase a main gun to go on the body of the tank.

It's the same for Chimeras, you add the cost of the turret weapon to the body.

This caught me out at first, but it's always better to ask!

Its 154. You must add the point costs for weapons which they come with, and any additional weapons you put on them. But beware, characters are different. The wargear which they already have on them does not cost extra points, only additional weapons you add.

Simply add together the points values of all your models, as well as the wargear they are equipped with, to determine your
army’s total points value.

- Points Value, assorted Codex's and Index's

It is not possible to obey the above without adding all Wargear Costs to the Models Cost, or something more specific telling us the war-gear has already been included in the listed price.

Do explain how it's not possible please? Units tell you if they include all wargear or not, and if not the lists tell you how much things cost.

It's unhelpful to everyone to post things like this. It *is* possible and is how it works. That people have written army lists and played games shows it is possible. Baffling comment, tbh.

No it is not possible to obey the command to add the cost of models and their wargear if you are not counting the cost of wargear the model has.

Special characters that specifically state their wargear cost has been included, well their points entry states that wargear has already been included.

How are you thinking that a valkyrie only switching out its multilaser for a lascannon is only paying 150 points(the hellstrike missiles are on the unit composition) instead of the 190 it actually costs when the units cost specifically states "does not include wargear".

Hell; there are some weapons unique to a specific unit that has an associated cost(often quite hefty), like the plasma obliterator on the same-named fortification.

Also to the OP: base cost for the russ jas to include the heavy bolter, heavy flamer, or lascannon in the front as well.

I didn't mention anything about Valkyries. Unsure what your point is there as it's not responding to anything I've said.

Still none the wiser as to this attempted 'cleverer than thou' tangent - most people can just add up what they're arming their models with and get it right. What's so difficult?

Ah, yes 'the old: "your example to illustrate how I am wrong doesn't count because I didn't specify a particular entry" tactic.

Jinx stated it is impossible to follow the quoted rules without, well, following the quoted rules with the exceptiin for where you are told that a portion of those rules have been done for you.

You replied that it is possible; quite erroneously, and ignoring what jinx said to begin with. While going off on some nonsense that the unit entry includes wargear so the that has anything at all to do with points costs.

I cited an example (valkyrie) that has weapons that come with the unit entry but has to still pay for those weapons.

Thank you Kel, I am sitting here trying to think of what JohnnyHell would be asking for....
I honestly do not know how to calculate point costs if don't follow the quoted Rule telling us to add Wargear and Model costs together.
