Well if it's WIP you want then I suppose I can help with that also a few finished TT models.

lets see what i've been keeping from you.........

15 finished Wraithguard, only bases to finish when all the models are finished.

some bases and wip on two Redemptors

And a few HQ choices for the Eldar to go along with the Wraithguard!

A bunch of Primaris marines it almost hurt to paint them

and assembled a few of these.................

So that's what i've been working on

Mate, it all looks great. Especially those redemptor bases. How do you find the model itself?

That’s what we’re talking about, nerdfest! Really nice to see how it all comes together...

Yes, the Redemptor bases are nothing short of fantastic! Also, those Eldar are looking snazzy! (I love the glowing hands of the Farseer.)

Why do the Primaris Mehrens hurt to paint? I know that you’re joking, but I’ve gotten to the stage where regular Tactical Marines look goofy in comparison. Perhaps Gdubs will do a Deathwatch style revamp? But then there’s the case of how are ten super humans supposed to fit inside a teeny-tiny metal bawks... okay, I’ll stop now

Edit: or is it that there’s so much edge highlighting required?

Thanks dude, I like how the farseers turned out too, I was a little unsure when I started with the style of them but it pulled together and for a TT look it's nice!

San76 wrote:Mate, it all looks great. Especially those redemptor bases. How do you find the model itself?

Cheers San, I quite liked the Redemptors, very imposing, a little skinny in the legs for my taste but i'll save my final appraisal until i've finished painting them

Thanks Cosmic, I just don't like the whole point and aesthetic of the Primaris and of course that's purely a personal thing. I can't agree with the movement of the timeline using them the way they have and having them taking over all promotion and pictures in White Dwarf and online and I find the Agressors armour and reavers very 80's cartoon.

I hear you nerdfest, the Primaris lore is a bit on the nose to me as well. I do like the proportions and sense of movement in the regular (non skeletor) models though. /conflicted.

Thanks for your thoughts, nerdfest. I also agree that the lore is a little forced in some ways. Still, I reckon the models more than make up for that.

Perhaps when (or if) Lion el'Jonson returns, we will see a resurgence of our regular and good ol' Marines.

I read something (on reddit/40klore) where someone mused with idea that Guilliman was not one of The Emperor's favourite sons (despite him being arguably the most successful) because Roboute wanted the Space Marines to be more than just a weapon or tool.

I think we all know that The Big E intended to put aside The Legions once their work was done, but Guilliman thought that the Adeptus Astartes should go on to serve a higher purpose in society when the time came.

Not necessarily a good thing, one could argue.

Surely, The Emperor intended for humans to eventually become a psychic race, heirs to the stars and successors to the Eldar, but we all know how that went!

Here we go again! finally some finished models

The final shots of the Primaris marines and the Redemptors all finished up! and a little one for Whaley, the Mino assault squad also finished (although I did forget to wash the bases before the pics )

While i'm not an advocate for Primaris I do indeed like how these guys look at a really neat tt level, very cohesive and appealing for a game.

Next i've got 15 Shadow Spectres to paint and 6 Custodes Jetbikes so much awesome right there!

And Whaleys Mino's

Been working on these 6 Custodes Jetbikes today, so far base coated and washed with the first gold highlights on all of them and a little further on 2 at this stage

the couple with a little more highlights.

and the bases for them I also managed to start and they look bloody good so far!

and a slow burn project that may or may not get it's own thread one day but I had an urge to paint a Blood Angels Horus Heresy squad! so I started building them from bits I forgot I had in the box!

Great stuff, as always.

Does anyone know if nerdfest09 uses an airbrush, or is it all 'traditional' brushes?

It’s all in the Kangaroo bristle brushes he hand makes. It’s difficult and dangerous always looking out for drop bears, but you see the result.

I understand his prices are reasonable too as he has made his fortune racing thouroughbred Dingoes in his pants on wagers .

Lots of great stuff on this page. That little Ultramarines army is great (even if it is made of Primaris ) and the highlighted gold on those jetbikes is lovely.

Lol thanks guys! that's just what I needed lately a good old dose of Dakka love and absurdity! I don't have Kangaroo bristle brushes but I do store them in a wallaby's pouch so i've always got them at hand the brushes are made from Platypus undercoat, it's delightfully soft and pliable i'm not worried about drop bears the Dingoes sort them out mate!

as for airbrushing, Whaley got it right, I don't use an airbrush at all, I did have one but it just doesn't appeal to me and I prefer the look of painted models. The closest I get is using cans of primer

I am loving the bikes for the Custodes too, they are coming along so well but the updates will have to wait until they're done!
