I find myself overwhelmed with option after option for low. What is your favorite to use? What would you use if you had the coin? Which nonstandard (not primarchs or knights) ones do you see often?

My favorite so far is the Kytan ravager but stats wise it's hard to argue with the Typhon siege tank. I don't currently own any low, but I am purchasing the Ravager in a couple months. The only I've seen is Morty (he destroyed me) and a Stormsurge(also destroyed me).

Vigo. Spain.

A Khorne Lord of Skulls. If I had the hability and time, I'll buy one and convert him to give him legs and have him on bended knee, lookin contemplatively at a Imperial Knight head on his hand.
Spoiler:
Legs like this, is what I have in mind.

And use the inferior half to make a spartan tank like this one:
Spoiler:

So, two lords of war for the price of one

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

This is an easy question.

Shadowsword.

It's the epitome of Imperial Wrath. There is no comparison between this or anything else.

I've tasted my grin and it tasted good.

How does the baneblade fair against other LoW?

You take BEINBLADE if you have no idea and you just want a super heavy... or you do have a good idea but you're not telling anyone else.

Thing is, Baneblade* is kind of "Tactical Marine" of the super heavy tanks. It's not bad for the points but it's not particularly interesting.

... of course, it can still cause quite a mess but more specialized super heavy tanks are usually a better bet.

*Do note that 'Baneblade' is just one of the many variants.

Barely related point of curiosity, but since you're an ork player how would you feel if they upgraded Ghazghkull to primarch levels and made him a centerpiece LOW? At this point in the setting he's probably been around long enough and done enough smashing to be absolutely massive.

Ghazkgull is pretty much perfect as he is now. A dominating beast of a model on the board, but not the meta-defining cheese-fest that Gurliman is. Right now almost any Ork list can usefully include Ghazkgull, but no Ork list Works only because of him. And that is how it should be.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The problem with baneblade variants is that when you use a proper density of terrain pieces, they will often end up locked in on some quarter of the map. Especially in urban terrain with 6-8 inch between city-blocks/ruins.

I'll feel very bad IMHO the current ghaz has the appropriate size, the new GW superheroes look extremely silly being that big. In fact the concept of centerpiece models is something I strongly dislike.

I've already got the ghaz model, so no interest in a new one. I'd continue using that model, which is also one of my favorite miniatures of the entire GW catalogue, even if the new ghaz has the imperial knight's size.

Ghaz is an HQ. Orks' LoW is the stompa and maybe something from FW.

I love the storm blade. I wish FW would hurry up and fix the mould so I can put one on my Christmas list.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

From an aesthetic point of view? Probably the oft-ignored Reaver Titan.

It's one of the best models which nicely blends current aesthetics with the older 80's-90's origin. It's not as angular and bland as a Warlord or a Wolfhound titan. Really evocative and just screams "Warhammer 40K" to me more than just about anything else they produce.

I don't own a Lord of War, and I find most of them pretty ugly.

If I bought one, it'd be a Cobra or Scorpion, they both look quite cool.

The Wraithknight seems really fun to build, but I'm not really a fan of walkers in a faction that has anti-grav technology.

I like the Imperial Knight the best, but I don't have one because at the point level I play it would completely dominate the game (not necessarily win, just dominate the gameplay). I also like the Tyranid big critters visually. Both together really seem to epitomize 40k for me.
