In every Batrep I've watched of people plaging Death Guard, not one rolls for extra attacks on rolls of a 6 in the combat phase against marines. Are they just forgetting to use the rule, or am I missing something?

It's only in the fight phase...But if you mean the fight phase? No idea, they're just forgetting. I don't know all the units in the codex, so maybe only some of the units have DtoFE?

I only noticed this when you pointed it out - now that you've made me think about it, I see what you mean. I can only assume it's an oversight, that they've forgotten the rule.

They could just be forgetting. I know I don't remember to use it half the time, and I certainly didn't remember that VotLW existed last edition.

Pretty sure its an oversight i have only played CSM and DG in 8th so far mainly vs imperium and i have forgotten most games

Death Guard are one of those armies where it's difficult to keep track of all their special rules. We've started using cheat sheets to tell us which phase a rule or stratagem is activated

Yeah I've forgotten a lot too, I just noticed it today and wanted to make sure. I saw some guy roll 3 6's on attacks with Mortarion and I wept at how much extra death he could've caused haha.

Every game I tell myself I’ll remember, and every game I either forget or am playing against not imperium lol.

I really dislike this rule. If you don't play against imperium you'll never use it, but if your opponent is only imperial you're using it all the time. Obviously the army can't be balanced with this ability in mind, so its just a freebie above and beyond any intended balance.

As an imperial player it really feels just like an "eff you" ability when Chaos uses it. Especially on berserkers. And I'm sure my chaos opponent feels the same way when I'm unveiling "relic of cadia," or my ork opponent if I brought Yarrick.
