What do you think of the return of Inferno, is it a good thing, will GW mess it up, do you want to read other peoples fanfics, will you submit your own, etc, etc? Those are just some discussion points, but pretty much anything relevant to Inferno is worth discussing.
Personally I might submit something, with no expectations of them liking it.

It's worth checking out. I hope they do a good job of weeding out the not-so-good stuff though. Fanfics can easily get filled up with garbage if they're not picky enough - which they may not be since rejecting people's stuff risks pissing off customers if they don't gently spell out that they may not publish everything.
I don't want to see crayon drawings of space marines or writings by people who can barely form a proper sentence.

The guys who are speecemarnies ware at the top off the hill and thay saw som orcs at the bottom. Captian Darksoul Edgemaster grabbd his trusting bolt gun and said to his guys..." MENS, BEFOR US LIES THE GREN TIDE OF ORCS. WE MUST KILL THEM FOR OUR EMPOROR!". And with that cpatian Danksoul opened fire as he lead the charge down the hills. Followinng him were the 7 company of space marines known as the Dark Masters chapter. With a thunderous force they met there nemisis heal long, bolter fire rang out in the cold air and chainswords bit into the imferior green flesh of the orc. It was evident the orcs were completly out matched. The dark masters defeated them all without losing a dark master. This was a good day for the emporor and humanity!

Funny how the writing improved near the end. It's hard to write poorly on purpose.
That's a good example of what I'm talking about though. I don't mind reading some fanfic from time to time and I don't expect fanfic to be novels, but a short mostly well written story about a faction I like can be interesting. Even if things aren't written expertly, they can be interesting for a short read if it's original and interesting. I don't want to have to pick through pages of garbage though. Hopefully it will be a well vetted venue that an artist/writer can be proud if their work is on it rather than GW's refrigerator.

Looking at the T&C, it say's 18 and over (no doubt due to additional legal issues with contracting minors), and I'm wondering if I should submit, because I'd be 18 very soon after the April 10th deadline, and certainly by the time they published an Inferno. Any advice from those who actually understand the legal ramifications?

The submission window is open until April 10th. They have to allow for time to read every submission then make their selections, so I would say don't expect anything until May at the absolute earliest.

I have a question: Are the entries in Inferno going to not be considered canon? The community announcement made it sound like this an 'official' black library thing, and implied that this could lead to employment for some. But I'm not familiar with the original Inferno, so some light shed on the details of this could be helpful.
I only remember the Gaunt's Ghost special edition of Inferno, with two short stories and a comic written by Dan Abnett, an interview, and some other background fluff on the Tanith 1st. It was really good, actually. If that's the kind of stuff they're bringing back, I'm all for it.
Not sure what the quality of the fanfic stuff will be, though. What will they do if all the fanfic they get sent is crap, and they're stuck with nothing to put in the next issue?
